spamming keywords like that will get you banned from search engines. also you have over done your keywords in your meta tags
Loose the annoying status bar message, people like to see where they are going.
You need to get your own domain name if you want to be taken seriously, and I doubt many people would want to make a geocities site their homepage with pops etc happening.
also your code for seting the homepage isnt quite right, you have:
make the href="#" or something otherwise people wont know its a link, it wont work on browsers other than IE.
looks like just a link page, get a theme, add some pictures of Bankok, tell us about the place, travel advise ....
Yes. Get rid of the spamming keywords. Get rid of the right click stopper script thing, if anyone is determined in copying your site it won't do ANYTHING. It just annoys visitors, which I doubt you want to do. I agree with Busy on "looks like just a link page, get a theme, add some pictures of Bankok, tell us about the place, travel advise ...." Again, agreeing with Busy, if you want to be taken seriously, get a domain name. A better server might help too? If people just take the time, they can find good free servers. Also, if you want, I suggest getting a PHP/MySQL host if possible and getting a link posting script up there. I have one at http://www.macdoggy.com/k3v1n/files.php I upload files to my server and make a link to the file though. A script such as this makes updating your website much easier, as you just go to an Admin Page in a browser, type in the link name, the link URL, a description, and choose what category it's in, hit the okay button and your done.
Sorry but it reminds me of another one of those shady, travel, toruism, real estate, spamming, trying to hide something sites that disables right click what reasons not known. Why would you not want someone to see your code? There doesn't seem to be anything there be other peoples stuff anyway.
Like busy said, you should have a theme....a reason.

did i spam the keywords ? isn't spamming keywords is putting things like:
keywords = "my name, my name is, name"
notice there are 3 'name' and this is what i believe spamming.
in my case, i'm trying to make a relation of the main idea of the site to the keywords. i agree that its annoying at the top but if i make the font size too small and change the color to blend with the background, then it will considered 'super spamming'
pics of bangkok and comments coming soon. the patpong and kaosarn is running. the concept is basically a list of websites and some pictures. my original intention was not to create the 'yahoo' of bangkok i needed something simple and stupid a lot of friends liked the idea.
FYI - i can get a domain and secure server, but not for this. it was meant to be simple and stupid and i know you agree with that
so looking at the present comments, i can see the following:
1. A STRONGER THEME
2. ELIMINATION OF SOME OF CODES
i appreciate the comments and will work on them ASAP.
First I would suggest to you is reading up on what SEs like and how to get rankings. You should deisgn a site for the visitors which is also search engine friendly, not the other way around! Get rid of that chunk of spammy keywords at the top, you will never get indexed for all of those keywords using that any way and make the site nice for visitors to look at, then don't concentrate on your meta keywords as most main SEs don't even look at them, Google certainly doesn't. You should create pages relevant to the keywords you'll be searched for using a paragraph or two which makes sense to visitors and contains your keywords is much better and the having the keywords in a sensible H1 tag and the title of the page.
Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....
the code for the homepage thing works as it is now on IE but people wont know to be able to click it as it doesnt have the link symbol when you nouse over it, just add ="#" to the href tag at the very end of the tag make homepage
you just have make homepage.
It's the href bit that make the link symbol and link clickable/mouseable
You know, I really don't think that geocities is a big huge problem for a site like this. There are lots of good and successful sites on free servers, that also happen to get a fair amount of traffic. The average user doesn't seem to care whether a site has a domain name or not (I don't think that most people notice what's in the location bar half the time). It seems that for your purposes it should be fine to stay where you are, at least for the time being. No point in investing in a domain name for such a small site anyway.
I agree that a stronger theme is needed here. You could probably do some neat things with photographs - I'm sure the scenery in your country is amazing. That would really help to set the tone right away. Also try to find a more sophisticated colour scheme - the bright colours tend to look rather amateurish.
I think it would also be helpful to provide more of an explanation of the links rather than just URL's. Use the site titles instead, and think about adding a bit of a description of what the site provides. Also try to move the content further up on the page, so people see some of it right away when the page loads. What are your users going to think when they see all those words written like that at the top? Could be rather confusing to many.
Good luck with your site, it's not a bad start
P.S. We've had several people from Thailand visit our office for a month or two at a time. Very nice people
Where the heck's the food? Thailand has perhap the best cuisine in the world and you're listing Cajun and Greek restaurants?!?
I'm trying to determine your audience here. Is it for tourists or for residents? If the latter, you probably need not turn the site into a travel brochure but in either case, it needs aesthetic help.
Follow the advice above. No need for me to repeat it all.
Hmm, now you've got me craving some dry curry.

I think you should totally get rid of all of those words at the top
(bangkok guide bars restaurants clubs hotels tours media list geocities...........etc.) and replace them with a nice introduction to what your site is about, what people can find there and how they will benefit from staying and looking around at your site. That would be much more interesting and helpful to your visitors IMO. And maybe put an image there like the others were saying.
As for colors, the black lines that are separating each section of links is to dark for the rest of the site and doesn't compliment the other colors. I think a lighter color that would accent your other colors would be good. Something bright and cheerful...but not too bright.
You might also consider moving your title graphic at the top, "Bangkok Internet Guide", over to the left so that it isn't hidden by the Geocities pop up. Just an idea.
One other thing that I am not particularly fond of it the script that takes over your status bar I would much rather be able to look and see the url of where I am going than see "The First and Best Bangkok Internet Guide."

1. replacing the keywords at the word to rather sentences and proper description
2. few designs re-do
WILL DO THEM TONIGHT.
PLEASE NOTE: THOUGH BANGKOK IS A BIG AND EMERGING CITY IN TERMS OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, 60-80% OF MULTINATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS STILL HAVE THEIR WEBSITES IN THAI LANGUAGE FOR SOME PARTICULAR REASONS THIS FORCES ME TO 'LEAVE OUT' SOME OF THE 'TOP' COMPANIES IN EACH CATEGORY
excuse me for my english. when you mentioned 'dont shout' do you mean i am complaining ? i didn't. i mean a lot of good thai restaurants have their website only in thai language so people like yourself wouldn't understand it anyway and that's why i couldn't list them.
Better, but I would have the chunk of text from the top and put it under the navigation and above 'Bars'. I would also get it off geocities as their banner thing on the right hand side is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying!
Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....
Much better. One litle thing - it would look better if you matched the yellow of the logo to the yellow of the navbar area. What would be neat is if you added sort of a picture rotation script to the front page, so you could show a different one each time the page loads, or set a timer so that a new picture loads every minute or so.
P.S. You could always use a browser that conveniently doesn't support Geocities' annoying banner thing
Many of my first impressions have already been noted in the forum, but I would like to reiterate the importance of the content of the page. Changing the listing of keywords at the top of the page to a paragraph or two of introduction text or information would prove invaluable, gaining you much more credibility. Right now, my first impression is that this is just a page set up by spammers in order to collect click-throughs. You don't actually give me any reason to click on any, except that they all have to do with Bangkok.
That said, I do enjoy your straight-forward, clear-cut page design. It is very simple and very clear with strong section headings and divisions.
I think you are on your way. Watching you make the changes to your site in response to the good advice you have received is promising. Good luck!
