I don't see why this can't be made to look good at 800*600 as well? Other than that a very nice looking site and good colour combination. I haven't quite made my mind up about coloured scrollbars, I don't think yours are too bad as you have a lighter colour to the track, I hate it when they are all the same colour.

Hey y'all, I haven't posted here in awhile. But I wanted my site rated and this is the best place I know of to do that. The url is http://www.anitrade.net. It was started awhile ago, just got a recentlly new design though. All constructive criticism is welcome.

thanks,
james

The site layout looks good, but a big problem is that it is unviewable in 800x600. Lots of people still use this resolution and you might want to consider making your site compatible with it. The colours you have used are easy on my eyes and you nicely intergrated it with v-bulliten with gives it more interactivity.

There is a horz scroll bar at 800x60 cause by the logo/banner section, then the contents look to skinny for it.
I see you have Anitrade.net is compatible with 1024x768 Screen resoluctions or higher. The site will not load properly in smaller resolutions. at the very bottom of the page. Have always wondered why these messages are at the bottom of the page because you always read downwards and thats the very last thing seen, and by that stage people already have a first impression.
the page is kind of long so maybe use a bit more width (tables at 100%) will shorten it up a bit.
Your style sheets aren't working properly in Opera, In IE you have blue links with orange on hover, in Opera you have white links with orange on hover which makes the links and headers the same color

It's a good looking site, however I am going to use you as an example. I really dislike it when people change the color of my scroll bars. I do not see it as part of the design so it is very distracting - and it can be confusing depending on what colors you made them. Just a personal preference - but I thought I would make it known!

Good site though!

Thanks for the comments. We're currently working on a new layout for it, I'll be fixing the resolution problem when we do:).

I think this design looks nice overall. I do think that the logo graphic could stand to be a little larger, or at least re-designed to make the site title stand out more. Overall I'm getting a little tired of the boxy look, just because it's used so often, but that could be just a personal preference. I like the idea of putting that little robot guy next to the section headers, but he's so small that I can't really tell what it is. Maybe a simpler graphic would be more appropriate. I would also consider re-doing the vbulletin graphics you've used in the top navbar there so they don't look so vbulletin-ish.

Otherwise a good job

I like this, nice use of colour which gives it the right feel. Maybe you should get some more anime graphics on your pages to help emphasise what the site covers (that first visual impact is all important). Also, the graphic that sits next to all your section headers isn't distinct enough, I can't make out what it is.

In your fan art section I'd suggest visitors see thumbnails of the work first and then open a new page if they want to look at it in full view.

What's the main emphasis for this site: forum/discussion; reviews; anime news? Your logo says 'For all your anime needs' so greet people on your homepage with what 'needs' you provide.

Nice work. Good luck.Wink
