What do you mean, how is your site? It doesn't deserve to be called a site!

Let's see how you did on the original list:

  • Logo = - improve what you have as a logo. The text should be made bigger and bolder. You have to have something that will get your logo seen since you have that ad banner at the top.
The logo still needs some work, it should stand out more.
  • Navigation - for one, I think that using the term Navigation is pointless. If you had a lot or links it might be necessary. It would be like having a car that had door painted on the door. You also should not underline any heading to a column, since it looks like a hyperlink and it harder to read. You also need to move the links off of the edge. The navigation bar should be on all of your pages to give it a consistant look and to make navigation easier.
It is a little more consitent but still needs work. It is not real visible being so small and at the bottom of the screen. I would put it at the top and have it the same on all of your pages.
  • Layout - the site looks so small on my monitor (1152x864). You don't really have a lot of content so you need to be clever to make the site not look as small. Consider adding a graphic or two or some other filler.
  • Color - yuccky color. I would consider another color combo.
    The color is still yuccky.
  • Code - Consider using a stylesheet to control your text formatting better. Do a search here on stylesheets or CSS for more info.
The text still needs to be presented better.

It is a little better but not much.

I agree that you need to have more of a theme/design to grab the attention of the visitors and not have the top banner appearing more interesting than the actual content. Follow what mairving has said and you'll be getting there.

Overall the site is a little too plain and boring, kind of like Latin. Actually I liked Latin since it gives you so much insight into words.

I don't really like the gray background that you are using for the navigation part. It doesn't match the background.

You should combine your font tags like this:
Learn:

Also, make sure that your tags are nested properly. For example, if you have something bold and italic do it like this:
a word,

Not like this:
a word,

I think your links would look better a different color besides default blue, purple and red.

You should also consider having consistent navigation throughout the whole site. It is good to have your navigation so that the visitor can go to any where on the site without having to go back to the home page to see all of the choices. Hope that made sense. Smiling

I think you need to loose the table borders and use more page width
Your right about the scrolling bit, they say the attention span of the average person is 11 seconds or less and the human brain gets bored in 27 minutes.
Maybe add some color into it, since the key words are things like "This is the world of myths" maybe use that or something similar as a catch phrase at the top of the page, add some images of what can be found - should be able to find some free ones at graphic sites who offer them, do a search on google for them.
You need to take the links off the side border.
just a thought, how about making the content part of your main page into an old scroll ?
whatever you choose a theme would help hold visitors there.
