Review Request: Guide to Word 97
Next year, I would like to enroll in a Diploma of Web Design course at Natcoll
Thing is, I need five works of art of works of creativity to show.
Would you please review my site and tell me anything that I should change or keep.
But one more thing, the grey background for the header looks a bit out of place, can you suggest another more suitable colour for it?
Link is: Word Guide to Word 97
Thanks

It's ok as a layout/design nothing flashy but with the subject matter I think that's a good thing. Apart from the grey I think that that header section is too deep, maybe re-arrange the logo so that Microsoft Word 97 is underneath the Guide To part so that it sits along side the quote, and maybe centre both so that at larger resolutions they aren't at either end of the screen. As for the colour, how about the green of the W in the logo?

I don't quite get what you mean there.
I just tried that colour, it looks to dominant.
Does this blue work well?

Instead of:
"Guide to Microsoft 97"
try..
"Guide to
Microsoft 97"
That sould make it narrow enough to fit on the left of Einstein at 800x600 and reduce your overall header size.
I think that in reduced quantity, the grey would be fine.
Your hover colour on the main page needs something - why not use the same effects as the navigation at the bottom?
Also, I don't usually use visited link colours but for a long faq or list of questions like the main page - it is probably a good idea to help the user keep track of what he's read.

The Einstein section in Opera6 is left while the text of it is on the right
NS4.7 the Einstein section (with text) is left aligned, is better than Operas display
How about more of a Word color scheme, dark blue up top (title section of word) and a slighty darker grey for outside edge )word uses two shades of grey, light and dark) and white for content. Or even have the word screen shot as the background or header background section - put your text over it or mute (dull) it so no one thinks thats the links etc
If you want a 'work of art' how about using the screen shot as I mentioned above but making the font type and size bit workable (use CSS and/or PHP) - just ideas
This is nitpicky but if you wanted to shorten the pages url you could change ?page=question_twenty_a down to ?q=twenty_a or ?question=twenty_a kinda thing

That has been corrected, thanks for pointing that out.
The ?page=... is also used in the section for the title, so I can't really do that sorry I just updated the .phps file if you're not sure what I'm talking about...

If there is still an easier way, then I'll use that
