Please review this site and provide feedback. I am not a web designer (no artistic ability) so the site is based off of a template I have modified.

thanks,

it's pretty nice as far as design goes. you may want to try to integrate the other pages such as register, transfer and whois with the main design. different designs on the same main pages may confuse people, in my opinion... like when you go to dacsofthosting.com, you see one design. click on some links and you see another template.

overall, though, great site!

I agree with the comments from skyraider with respects to the site integration and the consistency across different services.

Website Template
The template you have chosen is clear and professional, well laid out and you have promoted your services neatly within it. Your logo is good and a great tag line “Web Hosting with a personal touch!”. This clearly details your line of business and what sets you apart from the many hosts around.

Navigation
The navigation is clear using both the top and right hand menu. However you duplicate the top menu on the left, this can be confusing. I would suggest that you use the horizontal menu across the top as your categories and your left hand menu for the sub items within the category.

So within you left hand menu on your Home Page your sub menu could include:

  • About Us
  • Terms of Service
  • Acceptable Use
  • plus any other home page links

Also integrate your support features. It adds to the confusion with links for “Support” and “Support Forum”, leaving users wondering which one to select. I would suggest that you leave the support across the top menu and have an introduction to support forum on your support page.

Tutorials
I particularly like the tutorials. These show a good use of flash animation. These show how simple it is to use the service, you could promote these more within the site, which in turn would promote your service.

If you produced these tutorials yourself, then this could be something you could add to your marketing. I am sure that your clients would be interested in having them built for their sites and also something you could market separately.

One slight down side is that each tutorial has a long login section, you could have a “getting started” introduction that includes the login and an introduction to the interface. Then remove the login function from each of the other tutorials. Many users and perspective purchasers are likely to look at a number of the tutorials while deciding whether to purchase.

For usability you could consider a “Play again” and/or “Close Window” at the end of the tutorial.

Customer Confidence
Website hosting is a hard market to break into, with many well established companies with large marketing budgets.

I would suggest therefore that you consider adding a company introduction before the Standard Features for all plans. This could be as simple as promoting the Personal Attention above the Standard Features with just a few words about who DacsoftHosting.com are.

Also you should consider adding a more detailed “About Us” page.

Also you need to build confidence in your perspective purchasers, a contact page would do this, e-mail contact, address and telephone. You do include contact details within the support sections, but I think people are more likely to look for a “Contact Us” link.

People like to know who they are dealing with before they part with their money and also that your company has some history. If this is a new business you could provide some links to sites you are hosting, anything to build confidence.

Finally
I hope that the above points are of interest to you, they are not designed to be criticism of your site but suggestions of possible improvements.

I wish you every success with your hosting business.

They are solutions provided by learnalong.com not part of his service.

All,
Thanks for all the comments. I do appreciate them and will evaluate each for for incorporating into the site (some will take longer than others).

Barry, You make a very good point about customer confidence. Because those suggestions are not technical challenges, I will probably incorporate them first.

Some of the others will take longer. I am a software engineer, but html is fairly new to me.

thanks

Having those banners at the bottom of your page makes you look like a extremely small and new company who can't even afford advertising. I suggest you remove them since I'm pretty sure you will lose many customers because of them.

Mabye add some text links at the bottom of the page, or at least a 'top of page' link as some pages are pretty long at 800x600.
The only page I found unfinished looking was the 'pre installed script page' and maybe the 'hosting plans'. Try putting cellpadding and spacing to 2 or something just to give the text some breathing space

You also need to make a link on your forums back to your home page, even if it's just the logo linked back. you should look into trying to get the template your using and the theme of the forums similar

On the package page, if you click on the package name you get taken to this weird little page asking for your domain name, (didn't go any further) shouldn't it be the signup page or back to the info on that package?
