After the advice given to me about integrated advertising being much better than popups/popunders, I have changed my site to include google adsense advertising instead.

See what you think:

Could you please review some other sites as per the posting agreement, Thanks

I hope you are after a site critique and not just spamming your new advertising

I see that you actually posted this elsewhere and it's been moved to the critique section so you wont have seen the posting agreement

I get a big horizontal scrollbar at 800*600!

I quite like the header area, although I think the graphics need some work as the text looks very hairy on the Counter Strike part and on the CS Servers part it looks bad where there is white outside the black outline of the letters.

The rest of the page is ok, but samey, as it's a pretty standard 3 column boxy layout. The google ads look very out of place with the blue box outlines.

Over all I like the site but it does feel very cold and unwelcoming because of the colours, or lack of colour.

thanks...

I'm working on the header pics now, (clean them up a bit)

I quite liked the greyscale effect as it was for the right audience (CS Gamers)... I am gonna try putting more colour on though

Hmmm, I have changed the colour of the googleads, but now I think thy dont stand out, after-all there main aim is to make ppl click on them!

Yes, I agree. That's where introducing another colour to the scheme would help out. You'd be able to keep everything else greyscale and use the highlight colour on your ads or whatever else you want to stand out. Otherwise I think the greyscale idea is quite effective, and it's really nice to see a gaming site that's not dark. What you could do is bring out that brown colour from the image in the logo and use it or a lighter version as an accent colour. That would keep with the light neutral tones theme.

Do you want a full review or just a comment on the google ads?

Edit: Thanks for doing some good reviews on other sites! We really appreciate it! There are so many people who show up here and write up two lines and think that qualifies as a review!

Thanks, well....

the results speak for themselves really!

after changing colour schemes, on my ads, I got a MASSIVE drop in clicks... so I am changing back to the old colours

(a full review would be nice too) Smiling
