Now it's working! Maybe there was some sort of temporary problem with the server.

I think this is not bad for a start. I'm just going to warn you right now that you might be in over your head as far as subject matter goes - it might be easier to focus your topic into one specific area, which will make it easier to keep content fresh and attract a consistent audience. It's up to you though - a general site is fine just for practice (you could even decide to use a personal angle and present it as more of a resource based around your own interests rather than a general thing).

Wow! I was going to say that the menu is quite nice but that's before I moused over it! That trail is just a little too much IMO!

Like many other sites out there these days, I'm finding the font size to be really small and hard to read. Really, what's wrong with the default font size? I'm seriously getting tired of straining to read text on all these sites. (I know... switch to user mode...)

Overall you've done a good job in terms of design and presentation. Nice consistent layout and good colour scheme. Now that you've got the basics down you can start experimenting with some more interesting forms.

ok, thanks, its just at this size font it is smart and fresh iu think, i suppose i could now introduce some form of advertising, although i dont yet have a banner i can use to link exchange with or a counter for the site. I hope to have a members area soon and would like to create an online portal, if you have any ideas how i'd go about that, it would be cool thanks.

Try keep the same theme throughout the site, I noticed your banner is a different font and colour to the index page.
Don't use "under construction" notices or signs, every web page is always under construction and advertising the fact is a sign of a newbie.
You have a few images not loading, and the clip art (animated hammer) is annoying and distracting. you'd be better off using stock photos (photos of things), something computer or person related.
there are a few pages missing (deals, link to, music ..)
You have to many different URL's for your site, seems you have a different link for every section (.me.uk, .zzn.comand then the forum is another site with annoying popups.
The graphics page has a horz scroll bar at 800x600 and isn't sitting at the top, also margin tags are IE ones, wont work for NS, Mozilla or opera, add marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" into your body tag for the ones mentioned.
As mentioned there are a lot of webmaster resource sites out there, so if you want your site noticed you have to stand out. The ones that just try make a quick buck with links etc don't last, the ones that are legit and helpful with heaps of info and helpful links last the distance.

For someone whoÕs new at this game (website building) youÕve certainly made an effort where layout is concerned. But of course itÕs not just about layout design. ItÕs also about content. Anyway, back to your site...

Apart from the web site loading quite quickly there really wasnÕt an awful lot of content that I was able to home in on. Although having stated that, my eye did catch your navigation bar. Very flashy that bar. I must admit to playing around with that menu bar for almost a minute.

IÕm not 100% sure what sort of community youÕre trying to build here, but it does look like youÕve got all the pieces that one would expect to have in place on a fully fledged content-rich web site.

I got to be honest and blunt, but I just didnÕt find anything of any value regarding the content or lack of content on your web site. Sorry.

It doesn't matter what you're new at, you'll always be blinded by choice rather than good advise.

Generally not bad, but the boxy look is nothing different any more! You need to make the logo stand out more and create something with more pazzaz to give the wow factor. The darkness of it just makes it blend into the background instead.

The only other thing I'll add is the flash navigation - what about navigation for those who don't have flash & the search engines? You really should have an alternative set of navigation for them!

not a bad start, but as mentioned the small text, clipart and the flash navigation is a bad idea. Many users get distracted (including me) form "all" the animation that is on the page, I found my self looking at it for over 10 seconds! lol and I didn't bother reading the text cause it was too hard to read (it's bold) and too small.

At the "top" right corner just underneath the title, you have a place for them to put their first name for the blue square mail thingy but no place for them to put their last name and email... how does that work? ?(

Can't really tell what's changed as I can't think what the differences are now. You need a logo, something simple incorporating some blue squares?? It's too plain as it is now.

What's the 270 at the top on the right?

I don't like the navigation buttons. They are hard to read and rather annoying IMO.

At the very bottom the right hand column isn't lining up properly, for some reason it's narrower to the left.
