Welcome to TWF and thanks for reviewing some other sites.
First impression of your site was "Whoa, thats a busy site" (no relation to my nickname).
You have to many colours and to many different sized fonts (also styles).
You have done a good job on grabbing the eye to certain areas, problem is you've done it to much so the eyes are being taken all over the page trying to settle on something but not knowing anything about what your seeing.
dates wrong - ONLY use javascript for dates and times, using server side (asp, php etc) run off the servers time, not the persons time. so for me its a day out.
I think I know what the topic of your site is, but the first page doesn't tell me, the links dont describe anything and the only thing I know for sure is you sell stuff (like the rest of the internet).
I want to go into the site some more, but to be honest I have no idea where to click, none of the links jump out and say click me, none really describe where they go ... I end up going to the sitemap
There has been a lot of work into this site and most of it's very well done, just need to tame i down some, not so busy looking and confusing for your viewers.
An idea which the others may disagree, how about using a different colour for each section, home the banner green, family purple, military orangy colour, ... you probably have enough colours on there without picking out any new ones. and on the index list the sections with a little 'details of this section' type thing. I didn't check your PR but my keywords on your page wont hurt as you mostly just have links now.

Thanks Busy! Fantastic suggestions. I agree with just about all of em We especially need to work on making our site have more of a clear direction. Perhaps removing some of the information we have on our homepage would do the trick.
Funny that you mention the dif. color idea per section...we had done that once a long time ago..and that somehow got lost in one of our transitions. Defnitely something to bring back.
Gosh..I got a bunch to work on already! THis is a WONDERFUL forum! :sunny:

I totally agree with Busy on this one. It is rather confusing to the eye but I do like the general layout of the site. You do have a small horizontal scrollbar at 800*600 though because your table is 781 wide and the maximum is 770 with 0 page margins.
Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....

Daniel,
As soon as I openend your site I was not sure were to look. So many options, so many links... it looks busy and I was not sure the main purpose of your site.
I tend to like clean sites, with a color coordination, to find a pleasent color combination I usually go to http://www.simplygraphix.com/color_combinations1.html
Maybe a paragraph explaining the main purpose of your site could help, because at first glance I was not sure.
Your site looks 'old', but maybe that's the look that you want... but visually is not attractive to me.
Also when I click on an item, the bigger pictures is just 'half'... that's kind of strange, since the thumbnails show the whole pic.
I'm not a designer or anything... but that's what I feel browsing your site for a few minutes.
