REVIEW REQUEST - AffiliateFirst.com
I'm in the process of updating my site AffiliateFirst.com As it stands now in my own opinion it's kinda lame. I would appreciate any feedback on what's good and what's bad so I can formulate a new site layout.
Since you all are webmasters and probably use affiliate programs, I would particularly be interested in the options or special features that I could add to make it more user friendly.
Thanks,
Richard

This design really isn't all that bad. It's not amazingly exciting or anything but I feel that it does a fine job for it's purpose.
The first problem I see is the logo - it's too small and uninteresting. Other than that I don't really have a lot of specific comments. However, the design could be improved with the development of some sort of visual style or theme. A better logo would be the starting point for that. The colour scheme is a little on the bland side as well so you may want to consider trying something different there as well.
I guess the best thing you could do is look around at other sites to get some ideas. This is one of those topics that doesn't have a lot of obvious symbols or colours associated with it so it's hard to give specific advice.

Thanks Megan,
That is my 2 minute logo, compliments of a 30 day Fireworks trial. You should have seen my MS Image Composer logo, I have to laugh about those. As you can probably tell, I'm not really an artist with the graphics.
Thank you for your feedback it is much appreciated.
Since your here... check out the 'Add a Program' or 'Login' link at the top. It's the same site but a totally different design. I was thinking of making the whole site look like that.

My first impression is that I like the first one better although I don't really know why. It could be just that the yellow in the first design gives the page a lot more "kick". I'm kind of sick of the shades of blue look. I also think that the old layout just seems to work better with the content you have.
What you could try is changing the background colour to something more interesting and putting a row of tabs across the top for your different sections as you have in the first design. That could work. Either that or keep the background blue (get rid of that texture) and make the buttons a different colour. It would probably be easier to go with that option - or you could change both!

I'm not to keen on the light yellow/blue combination, and the little tab headings in the page kind of look misplaced.
in Opera6 (as Opera6) there is a slight horzional scroll at 800x600
nice no right click script , doesnt work in Opera or NS thou
just for the record the 'language' is now replaced by 'type'
the "add a program" color scheme is somewhat better but maybe to rounded for the content, didnt see the login link

I too think that a variation on the first/main layout is best but with a better logo (try a more unique font and maybe add a swirl or dingbat to it) and stronger/different colour combination. I know blue is supposed to be a business colour but it gets so boring and I always find now that I'm more attracted to sites that are anything but blue!

Thanks for above suggestions.
Would anyone like to suggest a color combo? I've used this one for almost 2 years and am pretty tired of looking at it myself.

Since I am in a colorful mood today I think these lively colors would be good.
*just a suggestion*

They are very jazzy colours and very nice. I think that people/designers get into a rut with colours and if you can use anything else besides blue I think it's a good opportunity to experiment and create a lively, colourful, eye catching site.
