Review Request : 5 seconds to understand what it is

Dear Webmasters,

It is really important that visitors immediately understand what a web site is for. If a visitor does not understand what a site is for in 3-4 seconds... then click Sad goes away.

I kindly ask you to make a test: please visit the site just for few seconds, count up to five, then close the page and tell me what you have seen. What am I selling? What is my target customer?

Thanks a lot,

Michele

You're selling um, a script/function to put on one's site.

However, my first impression was that it was a junk marketing site and I wouldn't have stayed if I wasn't looking in particular to answer your question.

If you would, please take a moment to review the sites of other members.

Do you want a critique of the actual site design?

yeah looks like junk marketing... I only read 'What do YOU Sell? Want to Sell More?' and I then I stopped reading and waited the 5 seconds to be over.

Yea, took me at least 10-12 seconds to figure out (I only stay 15 seconds or so, so let me know if I'm wrong..) that you sell 'tell a friend' software of some sort. I agree with the above here - I wouldn't have stayed just cause it looks like a junk marketing site..

Thank you for your impressions. I would like to better understand if your "Junk Marketing" impression comes out from the web design (e.g. the colors) or from the words (e.g. What do you sell?...)

Thanks

I'm guessing both.. but more so the words. I actually like the site design.

Hmm... in 5 secounds the page failed to load. Then i refreshed and it still failed to load.

Well, I think the website had done a fairly good job. After 5 seconds I didn't know what the website was offering, however, after 10 I did! Smiling

I like the use of 'white' space. I think that to make the message clearer you should move "The Tell a Friend Tool for your website" more to the right and make it much larger and in the teal area between the two blues at the top of the page.

Good luck!

Your comments, suggestion and corrections are very helpful. As a consequence I have prepared a draft of a new home page.

It partially addresses the color issue, the issue related to the main heading text and the typos.

I would love to hear your impression before I publish the new home page.

Which one do you like the most?

The only difference I see is the tagline. One says "Money Empowered Tell a Friend Service for Your Web Site" and the other says "The Tell a Friend Tool for Your Web Site".

Looks nice, but I agree with the others - it looks like a scam/junk marketing.

I'd lighten up on the lingo and the bold fonts.
The colours do go well together, though.

Hi-

Took me longer than 5 seconds to figure out what it was...
something about referrals.

I think you're asking for too much in too little time. Keep
it simple.

Just my thoughts.

Good luck.
