Hi all.
Recently put up my first personal website - http://www.progenita.net. Would really appreciate some reviews and feedback on it.

I am using DotNetNuke, so would welcome feedback especially on things like the registration process (needed to post to some forums on the site and to get to the members only area).

Look forward to your comments.
Thanks guys.

Firstly, for some reason it took a while to load on my computer. I have broadband.

The layout is nice and clear.

You have to scroll left/right on my computer which is never a good thing.

Apart from that it looks ok!

Hi Craig.

Fixed the problem with the left/right scroll... it was a series of links at the bottom of the page which was pushing it out. Should be a lot better now.

Thanks for the review though.

Yeah the loading time is quite lengthy... You have a good use of 3 column layout, looks cool... Just that you get too much info upfront, I dont know where to look first...

Very nice site, I do have some suggestions though.

I have always always always steered away from scrolling marquee text. That stuff on the right side looks like good info, and you have plenty of room so why not just remove the marquee and just display the text normally?

You have a very nice color scheme, however I get an orange and red icon for your site when the url is displayed (a nice touch) but, how does this icon tie in with your website? I would atleast match the colors.

This is completely my person preference, but I will give it to ya anyway (haha you dont have to read it after all!). On the menu, when you have some items that expand and some that do not I think that there should be an indication of those menu items that expand. Something like a right arrow, plus sign, or just something cool and small that the other items dont have.

I found a couple of bugs with the curved headers on the menu items that exist on the right side. Since your layout stretches you need to make sure if that someone has a small window that they can still read your text, even it the layout is getting squashed. I came across this when I went to the "Paranormal Forum" and made the window small, I could not read the header "Top Paranormal Posts" when the window size was minimal (FYI: I was using Firefox when I came across this).

You also need to work on the small pictures on the main page, they look very grainy. Looks like they where just quickly resized instead of being scaled properly.

Also I have to agree with the other TWF Members ... you site is oh so slow.

the site looked ok to me, takes a while to really figure out what the sites about, but that picture at the bottom with all the people standing together, well that thing has been used by 1000000's of websites take a look on ebay, that pics on alot of websites, I would switch that if I where you... thats my 2 cents.

I feel you have too much on the index page. If I were you I would disperse your content to other pages.

You have a good keyword saturation but your keywords are very general did you use word press

Loads too slow for Dial up... might want to check your referrals to make see how many people might fit into this category...

I like it, but perhaps you could shrink some of the images a bit to make it load faster? It might take a year for a dial up user to view that site.

I unfortunately have a 56k (more like 44k) dial up connection at my villa and I got tired of waiting...
