It's cool to develop online stores, but to run our own store is even better idea! This is why we created vitafly.com to sell health supplements.

Your comments and opinions on this store will be very much appreciated.

I think it's a very good layout... nicely organized and easy to read.

-- Logo is beautiful (not sure if you designed it...)

-- I really like the icons (of course I'm a windows user)

Thank you.

/// Logo is beautiful (not sure if you designed it...)
Of course we developed it. There is no the same vitafly store in the Internet Smiling

/// I really like the icons (of course I'm a windows user)
It looks like we are the first online store using directories with icons Smiling

/// Viewing 800x600 IE 6
Our internal pages are a little wider than 800 pixels, but we hope it is compensated by their functionality.

When I first opened this site the first thing I tried to do was scroll up. I was excepcting to see a logo at the top there above the directory area. Putting the logo on the right is a unique idea but it isn't working very well the way it is. I think it would be better if the layout was cleaned up some and streamlined so there isn't so much other information competing for attention. You could just clean up the area below that and see if it helps. Lose the picture of the woman and use a more ambiguous texture instead (like the top middle section of the other pages). Also clean up the new products so they are aligned with each other in a straight list rather than being scattered like that.

I do like the colour scheme and espcially the little icons next to each category. The logo is nice too.

The "ask a doctor" thing - first of all, why should I ask a doctor why you are able to offer lower prices? That seems to be more of a business issue to me. Also, I didn't expect that button to take me to an e-mail address. It should point to an online form instead or, better yet, a forum or list of previously asked questions. If you really have a doctor to answer it would be neat to have a regular feature where people could write in and the answers would be posted. It would be a way to keep people coming back. If you don't actually have a doctor availabe don't pretend that you do. Seems rather unethical in an already somewhat unreliable industry.

I like the internal pages better. I'm getting used to the logo being on the right so it seems to work better here. When I get to an individual product page I'm seeing a heck of a lot of text with very little formatting. The headers are running right into the paragraphs and the font size is too small to read comfortably. I like the ability to enlarge the photo but it should be larger still. I added something to my cart and it worked well - nothing confusing there. I am a little confused about "international" shipping. The order form only lists Canada and US as countries, but the shipping instructions page doesn't say which countries you ship to. That should be more clear.

We are working on the left directory now, so we hope the top of the page will attract more attention.

We replaced this block with "Subscribe" and are waiting to estimate the effectiveness.

I get a big horz scroll bar on your internal pages at 800x600 and the font size is really small.
I think you need to include your countries location somewhere, I never got to the order form, but looked in other places for it, I did see the time mentioned and by that I gather USA but a lot of people (outside USA) have no idea what EST, PST or CST are.

In your 'shop by brand' pull down list you have 'about us' in the middle of it all. Your brand page has 'search' link on it

Overal nice layout, nice colours, but one of the biggest things is a no trust factor, your favicon, it shows a yahoo symbol, I know your hosted by them (refused a cookie) and your source code. I'd just finished deleteing all my daily spam, and pills are a big spam subject so I checked your source to see if your site was a link farm (affiliate links etc) - it's not, but as the favicon automatically lost any trust I had for the site was hard to trust any link. It could just be me, most people may not notice it

Nice site. Great icons and logo. Love the colors. I've always been a sucker for blue and green together. I'm not sure I like the left part with the categories position, although I like how they are put together. I think I probably would have the right side area with the photo and logo on the left side flowing all the way over to the right and directly underneath the category section. I find that it's easier on my eyes. But, then again I'm not the one designing it so, if you like the way it turned out, then keep it that way.

I really like it either way.

Good luck!

In regards to the width issue, overall it didn't bother me on the inside pages after the first time I scrolled and saw it wasn't any content for the page (ones I saw were "best sellers"). So having that be off of the page was kinda like hiding it. However, the logo of the site also gets chopped off. I would move the logo to the left some so it is wholly visible at 800x600.

Just noticed that on this page: http://www.vitafly.com/protein-whey-protein.html , when I clicked on the "Designer Whey Protein, 5 lb" (bottom row, with a link to http://www.vitafly.com/designer-whey-protein.html), it took me to your home page (with a URL of http://www.vitafly.com/yhst-73484102243733/). May want to check all your products to make sure they are ok.

I really like how the items I looked at are showing up at the bottom as "Currently Viewed Items", very nice touch.

Most of the items where I clicked on "Enlarge" to see a bigger photo were not very much bigger than the original on the product page. I was expecting a bigger picture to see more details of the product labels.

The "Shop by Brand Page" and "Read Article Pages" have a design that makes it seem like the menu on the left is in the way. (Kinda makes me think of an IE browser window with one of the left items turned on (Search, History, Favorites). With such long lists, seemed like a lot of wasted space under the graphic.

Now I know better, but so many people out there don't: You have at the bottom "We accept all major credit cards:" and then to the right of that "To place your order via e-mail, please click here". I know the two are not related, but why chance someone mistaking that they can order via e-mail with their credit card. Remember the vast audience that does not know better, and might e-mail you their card info.

I didn't bookmark it to see the favicon, but I did try to go to checkout. And along the lines of what Busy said, I stopped right when it asked me for my Yahoo Login. What if you don't have a yahoo account? do they force you to create one? I know it is probably just me, but that is on the same level as having a website and advertising "[email protected]" or "[email protected]".

On the Shipping Info page, too many things that are underlined that are not even links. Find a different way to highlight.

On the Contact Us page, the first e-mail address the word sale is not capitalized like the rest of the e-mail addresses on the page. Also there is no space between #5 & 6 lile the rest of the items.

Overall though, liked everything else about the site, easy to find what I was looking for. Off topic here, but I visited your site http://www.ystoredesign.com/, and really liked it, especially the Portfolio layout. Very nice!

Actually your notes are very useful for store improvement.

This is very strange.
We have never seen any LOGIN messages

Can anyone of you try to put an item into the cart once again?

I think it looks fantastic. I wasn't expecting to see such a well executed site. Nice image work and the directory of products looks great!

The big problem for me - i believe it has been mentioned - is the fact that when we are first taught to read - we are taught to read from the left of the page to the right - however your website seems to work from right to left - it felt very unnatural.

also the width issue - to me it is just odd that you have your main page one width and your inside page another -

Design consistency??

We thought it would be better. There is not so much info on the front page to make it too wide, but it was impossible to make in other way in the inside pages.

Sorry - I also forgot to mention - from an seo point of view - its a nightmare.
You are going to have to do a lot of work to get it into a decent position on any search engine.

At last! We put the Health Concerns directory at the top of the front page
http://www.vitafly.com/

We divided it into more detailed categories and as the result we hope our visitors will be able to find the product they need more easily and quickly.

You are welcome to see it and say your opinion.
