Hi,
could someone here please review http://www.home-business-match.com the home business match, I would really appreciate it. I particularly would like to know if the colors are o.k.
Thanks

This is my first review... so hopefully it'll help.

1. Right off the bat, i look at the spacing of the nav bar on the left. It's way too big with barely any content. Nav bars are typically tight and don't take more room than they need so as to not take away from the real content of the page.

2. Some of the colors are OK, but others need help. The link colors, at least hovers, are bad. The green on that blue is unattractive and hard to read. It also looks like the visited colors change from page to page... marking inconsistency.

3. At first, i didn't like the copyright and disclaimer colors at the bottom being so close to the background... but they've grown on me and i understand the reasoning... so that i like.

4. Looking at other pages... there's a lot of change in the overall layout. On the Business Match Partnet Sites page, the nav bar shrinks to too small, without any cushion for the text. Also, the text on there is a neon-turquoise.. not terribly attractive.

Overall, the site could use work. I'd concentrate on making the pages look consistent. I'd also try to clean up colors. For me, if i see a site with a bad color scheme, i almost immediately leave, regardless of content.

Hope that helped and i wasn't too hard.

I agree with the above about the side nav. It looks a bit clunky as the longer nav items which flow onto the second line are not lined up. It would be a good ides to swap out the text and replace it with images with alt tags.

You've also got enough room to be able to keep the same nav throughout. This'll help as your visitors will be able to get to every part of your site from every page.

The text needs to be formatted rather then just a long block - it looks a bit dull.

I'm afraid the banner logo looks a little bit fuzzy, maybe you need to re-optimise the images and sharpen them up a bit.

I think that you've got loads of great information that you could just do with having another look at displaying it a bit more interestingly. This could be rollovers, background colours and panels for related topics, images in and around the text blocks, there are loads of things that you could do.

Hope this helps.
