Review: BoardAide
I have recently created a new bulletin board dedicated to bulletin board support (UBB, vB, phpBB, iB, ect) and I would like to know what you all think about it so far. A few modifications have been made to allow for more security and better viewing.
BoardAide is all about helping others, whether it be with bulletin board support, hacks, templates, graphics, ect. We already have a moderator from the official UBB forums signed up (I know him in personally - live rather close to him). We are looking to get moderators from the other official forums to help out also, as well as gain members that we can help out.
I ask that you post positive or negative feedback as I would like to turn this into a large community someday and do not want it to look like trash.
One thing though, I know it may look bad in NS, so please do not report that. It is just an issue with vBulletin, I am aware of it already.
The URL is http://www.boardaide.com and if you need to contact me you can at [email protected]
Thanks ahead of time,

It looks good (IE5.5) but my only comment is that it's perhaps a wee bit plain looking. Could use some colour in it as the blue/grey feels a bit cold and uninviting. I do like the logo though
Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....

Yeah, it looks like another forum I've been to. Can't recall which one, but I guess they all kind of look the same. You might want to try tinkering with your colours to see if you can find something a little more unique. Also make your logo text bigger - a lot bigger.
Now, you do have a lot of empty forums on there. I think the best thing to do would be to make only one forum for each piece of forum software - you can always expand it later as your forums get busier. It also might be good to add a forum on community building so people can talk about how to build membership, get moderators, keep their members happy etc. etc.
P.S. I like the band-aid idea.

Thanks for the feedback, I have changed the background and the colors of the forum at this time. I do not see any reason to change the logo as I am on a higher resolution and I can read it just fine (1024x768). Regarding having too many forums, I am satisfied with the amount right now, although I will not be adding anymore unless they are requested by members (although I do like the idea about adding a community building section, so I may do that one ).
Any more suggestions? (members are welcome to sign up )

Like your colors...like the topics. A useful and necessary board.
A suggestion before you start
advertising it...
make some posts yourself...general info posts along with some questions others could answer. Get some people you know to make some posts too so it doesn't look like you're the only one posting. It's very hard to get people to post on an empty board, but if you can at least make it appear as if there are people there posting, you shouldn't have much trouble getting others to post too.
When you do start to advertise...here's a suggestion for a place to submit it too.
