dear wcys,
I liked your site and can see that a lot of effort has gone into it. I liked the colours used and the tabs that you have - I would look at the arrangement of tabs on all the different pages for example having a home button in the same place on all the pages.
other than that you just need some more people on the site to give it more content.
How about having a link to other singing while people are getting into the site, like some youtube captions (you then have topics for discussion for your impending forum!
Good luck with it and good work.
Toby
oh, liked the line about being like popidol or whatever - i would make that bolder and a good theme to follow more! have a 'cowell' type character or something?!?

First off, I like the layout of the site. Very clean and straight-forward.
The think I immediately noticed was that there were way too many colors on the front page. After narrowing it down, I discovered that it was the ad that was throwing me off. That thing is huge! I initially thought it was part of your site.
Is there any way to make the ad smaller so it doesn't take up so much room?

Agreed. The first thing that I saw was the ad and I couldn't take my eyes off of it because of the movement but mostly because of its location and the size. That ad is also really making the site seem darker than it is - because it is so prominant.
I am a littlee worried that it is so blue. That orange/samon color could be used a little more for splashes of color. The brown is a neutral and kind of acts like that blue because it does not stand out.
Other than that - I really like the color scheme and the layout. It looks really good.

I was going to come and give you a nice long review but I loaded the site and got this message:
Gee, thanks. I'm using Opera, By the way. How rude Don't try to force people use any specific browser. Showing people a message on the site itself for a truly outdated browser that doesn't support standards properly (namely IE 6), might make sense but you should never a) block compliant browsers or b) try to block people from the site. If you want this site to become popular you can't go around blocking IE users. That's a traffic killer right there. Save your Firefox campaign for some other site.

The good, I like the colors, the layout has a potential, but the main drawback are those very imposing ads on the top. I also didn't like the headers for "top ten songs" , "fresh..." it's out of place. It clearly doesn't match the site. Also the song search area is anemic that without a second glance you wouldn't know it is there... The texts for the content area is quite small too.
A little adjustment here and there can do the trick though. Good luck with the site...

I have noticed there are a lot of users that seem to (Shall we say greatly dislike IEx) but I have noticed that unless your a web geek the most prominant browser used is IEx.
Now about the site ... I have not delved too deeply but when I attempted to view with IE6 your graphic at the top was not displaying well ... it seems that you are using a layered graphic that does not display properly.
Navigation seems well done but the double column setup on the home page seems unbalanced due to one side being much longer than the other.
I try to look at sites as an average person rather than a designer to get a feel for how the average person would feel. The Hypermedia ad seems to draw too much attention away from your content.
The other thing I noticed is how the bottom of all the pages seem to crowd the window.
These things seem minor but the overall feel left me not wanting to peruse the site too deeply.
On the good side I was impressed with the quality of your work. Keep plugging away and I am sure you will have great success as the word gets out.
