What were you thinking when you designed this? I'm just curious really - is the lack of "design" a deliberate thing? It seems strange to see a site that has no graphics or anything fancy at all. From looking at your desktop designs I can see that you are capable of great design work, so I'm guessing that this must be deliberate?

I can't upload a screenshot right now, but I can tell you that you should add a little bit of a margin to the right side of the screen so the content doesn't bump right up against the scrollbar.

As for the content, well, it's all just a little bit confusing. I don't know what that "Lamerz" thing is at the top of the screen for example.

here's an IE screenshot - I made it a gif to keep it under 2MB Wink - it wouldn't fit in one shot so I made two and pasted them together

Thanks.

Just as I guessed.
The right margin looks OK with my (linux) netscape,
but horrible in IE.

This is my first try at CSS and I'm still in the layout phase.
The "artwork" is usually done after I settled for a layout.
As for content ther isn't any (so far.)

And for the curious, the "lamerz"-thingy is a running joke with my friends.

Thanks for the input anyway.
Any comments on the color scheme ?
Before I use it in the pictures.

The colour scheme could use some work I think - the shades of blue look is so common. I would try something more unique.

just to let you know, the right edge of your page simply doesn't display in IE - it's not a crop in the screenshot - maybe because of the left margin misalignment - also, in your info section, up-to-date is usually hyphenated

Is that a linux user I see over there? we need more of them. Smiling

The site is nice in terms of navigation. which does acount for a lot. It could stand some eye candy in a few places but over all it's ok.

hmm ... I wish I had more time to integrate your hints faster.

1. I know, MY-shades of blue have been abused quite a lot lately, but I've been using them for the last ten years (desktops, apps, sites, etc) so I got kind of used to it.
2. I hope the margin is fixed by now.
3. Hyphenation has always been a problem for me;
And "english us not my native language" simply doesn't count.

4. Yes, I've been using linux for ~8 years now.
I stopped using Windows 6 years ago and removed all non-Unix systems from my home in 1998.
But I'm not sure if I want "more of them", the quality of communication has suffered quite a lot due to the newbie-avalanche.

5. Eyecandy, I thought about a nice logo for the top, heads for the nav-boxes and maybe some "borders".
I'm not sure yet if I should go for round or rectangular.

still got problems in IE5 - you're not cut off on the right anymore, but, well, here's another shot 'a courage Wink - btw, I OFTEN see "up to date" as three words - when somethin's widespread, it's English, whether people like it or not, so I'd say you could go either way - and believe me, your skills are better than most "natives" by far - also, I HATE WINDOWS and M$ in general so I'm very envious of your linux setup

OK,

that's it, the linkbuddies thingy is history.

The linkbar at the top will become NS only.

And maybe I'll install IE ... nope, I won't.

thanks

don't mean to be annoying, but the scrollbar covers your right margin on both browsers - N doesn't even put up a horizontal bar - left margin cuts off only "gray bar" at top - I blame Billy Boy Laughing out loud

OK,

I just set a ridiculus high margin.
The old one worked fine for me - see the screenshot, but since it didn't work for you ...

Are pixels pixels or what ?

argl,

I just installed a windos and IE.

But I can't fix it.
Is IE that buggy ?

Don't know what I'm talking about ?
Ok.
Goto:
http://www.webhome.de/anti/

Ouch - yes, that right margin is ... well ... negative.
Now press the BACK-Button.
And the FORWARD-Button.

And it's fixed.
Can someone explain this to me ??

Looks all right in NS4.76 (linux);
And ... horrible in Mozilla M18.

Ah well, back to the sketchpad.
