There's not a lot of pages to look at (without logging in), but let me know what you think. I had a hell of a time doing anything around that logo, blah.

Thanks!

First thing is the text at the bottom of the first page next to the picture, bit hard to read. I know you've done it as a graphic but it isn't very clear.

Other than that I like it. Keeping the colours in line with the logo can be very hard but you've managed to keep it fresh.

Nice. Under the contact us page you list their phone number. Why not put their office hours so people will know when to phone?

Peter,

I too like the way you've carried the logo's 2 tones through other parts of the site.

Personally I would have the top of the home page look the same as the company profile page, and then drop the excellent home page 'proactive' graphic to the base left of the home page, where it would have a white background. But it's not a big deal. Hope that makes some sense...

Also, company profile should say [its], not [it's].

Cheers.

Stephen

That white part at the top is way too big - you could easily shrink that down to make the black part fit below the fold at 8x6. I would also make the logo bigger and have it overlap the black part a little bit - hey, that's what you've done on the other pages. Looks much better. I do think that you might want to try to make the green of the graphics match the green of the logo a bit better, and the "Protector Plus" text is a little hard to read with the overlay there - maybe fade the back one out a bit more.

You might want to put more information on here about how to get the product, description of how it works (not too specifically of course), success rates, stuff like that. This website doesn't really do much to encourage potential customers to buy.

Overall good.

A couple of things though.
In your meta-tags, you had "glass identification" . Is that correct?

I really don't like to see all of those &nbsp ; either.

Okay I am being picky. Is there more content going up or is that behind the curtain?

WebMiss,

That text is a bit fuzzy, I'll try to sharpen it.

Jiffy,

Good point I'll mention that to them.

Stephen,

I'm not a fan of dark background's either but the client is, and they wanted the homepage to be different than the other pages.

Megan,

The white at the top was sort of the effect I was going for, at 8x6 it should be roughly a 50/50 split, it's hard when you're doing a design that scales to any resolution. I to liked the way the rest of the pages look, but the client liked the homepage.

Regarding the content, I thought it was VERY minimal also but the client isn't using the site for sales, it's focus is on the dealer pages (you have to login to see all that stuff)

Mairving,

That's correct, they etch a number into the glass, that's how they identify a stolen car. If I didn't need to program for Netscape then you wouldn't see all those & n b s p ! There's no more public content going up, everything's behind the login page.

Thanks everyone!

Okay, I kind of thought that that's what you were trying to do, but in NS 6 the photo on the left is down about 150 or so px from the white part, so it scrolls. In IE it's okay.

In the version of NS I'm using (4.6 for Mac) I see a default grey background up top and on subsequent pages because you haven't specified it as white. I know white's the default in some versions, but obviously not this one!

Okay, this bugs me. The Protector Plus image on the front page... the angle is shot from *within* the car but the sticker in the window is facing the passenger. In real life, stickers in the window would be reversed so that someone *outside* the car would see it correctly and hopefully be deterred from stealing it. Now, I realize why this was done and know this is just a stupid nitpicky thing to notice, but it's like those Sony Mavica digicam ads where to show you it used floppy disks they showed the shutter side of the disk sticking out of the camera, which was wrong. Okay, that was my rant for the day!

Overall, it looks really good to me!

Giz,

Thanks for the tip regarding the background on a Mac, that's important! Your other point, well, I understand what you mean, but if it was reversed it would probably freak even more people out (but you would be happy!)

I only have one thing that I feel needs a touch or two.

The "Protector Plus" image on the front page....
I think that the image just looks unfinished. The soft fuzzy edges look out of control. I am not sure if it is the positioning of it or what exactly the issue is. Maybe if it reflected the clean/controled style of the rest of the site....

All other aspects I really like.

The 800x600 scrollbar on the main page is so unnecessary! Couldn't you tighten it up a wee bit and still keep the client happy? Has the client SEEN it at this res? I've run into that before - clients with hi res screens asking for things that don't work well at lower res. Make sure that they get a look at it the way roughly half their clientele will see it.

I never noticed the "backwards sticker" but now that it has been pointed out, it is bugging me also Smiling
