Possible New XRS.NET Design...
Hello everyone,
I'm working on a possible new design for my main site, XRS.NET. The best new design I have come up with so far is located at http://xrs.net/newxrs/.
In my opinion, the old one has too much going on and is too hard to understand for newbies especially... So I wanted to make a design that is a little nicer yet still as informative.
How do you all like it? Anything need changing? Does it accomplish what I want it to in regard to the old XRS.NET design? Thank you very much for your input.

1) The logo is a little boring. I like the one on the current design better. Maybe try to incorporate that into the new one.
2) The page would look much better centered, but I can see why you didn't (the logo). But if you don't really like the logo then I would make a new one so the page can be centered.
3) The black background doesn't work too well. I'd try some other color.
Overall, though, I think the site is very well layed and designed. Good job!

WOW! This is what I call a nice site! I like it, the best I've seen! I like the logo a lot. The black background, I usually wouldn't recommend...but with this site it is great! Very nice! Change it to that...I like it a lot! Keep up the good work! That is a great design!

Pretty good. Very good graphic design and a pretty good layout.
Here are some things to think about:
1. The site is to much aligned left, I've always hated that. I know it looks cool cuz it looks like the logo is attached to the edge of the site, but it makes my eyes hurt to have to look all left like that. I dunno, you made it look pretty good.
2. I'm not so sure about the white strip under the bottom navigation that makes the rounded corners. Maybe make the rounded corners under the blue cell.
3. Use the CSS all around the site, not only in the main content. Use it for the nav, too!
4. The button advertisement looks really outta place at the bottom. Try putting it right next to the logo or just get rid of it.
I think I like the old design better. To me the old design is a lot more cleaner. But they are both good, so it's a judgement call

I like the centered version much more than the left aligned version. I also like the extra X in the logo. Good job!

Great!
The new design looks very professional. Awsome job.
Just a few small suggestions.
Instead of having a submit button, change it to a graphic that goes well with the rest of the design.
I don't really like the « and » to the left and right of the section you are in on the menubar.
EVerything else looks nice, good job.

Alright,
Now I have taken the left-aligned design out since pretty much everyone likes the centered design. Thanks for the critiques and help!

Wow - really nice site. A couple of things:
I don't know about that black background either. Maybe try a navy blue?
I really like the logo part. The irregular shape at the top is very successful (as my urban design prof would say). I definitely think that you should leave the logo the way it is - doing something more complicated probably probably wouldn't look right with that oval shape.
