Zacrifice,

It's a bit difficult to comment as there really isn't much there and you haven't told us what the site is about and what sort of content there will be. All you actually have is a picture being thrown into an html page so it would be better if you actually put it into a proper page as you want to lay it out. As it is now the white background doesn't do it any favours and it sits left aligned by default which also makes it look odd.

We do ask that before you start asking for site critiques that you participate in at least three critiques of other's sites. This will not only give you ideas and help on your own site but give others a fresh view on theirs.

Very Interesting, good start. But the queations (already asked i know) is how are you going to manage the navigation?

Hi
Umm the reason for the white background is becouse its just the image loading its not a HTML page i will be making it into an actual page tomorow and the site will be about graphics design i wanted to go with something simple and not to Flashy i wanted the content to Stand out becouse thats what people are there for im planing on having planty of tutorials I already have 23 Tuts for Photoshop Consisting of basics like getting that perfectly rounded Corner thats just for the Basic Also there will be planty for the Photoshop guru and i also plan on making HTML Tuts Javascript DHTML Perl PHP and many other things..

Anywho the sites a long way from going live and im still setteling on a design..

Okay, well if your site is about Photoshop tutorials and web authoring you should really make that purpose evident in the design. And that is very difficult to do (and I would know!). If you're going to use a splash page for a site like this you should do something that really shows off your skills and lets your visitors know that you will be able to teach them something about graphics. This layout is nice, but I don't really think that it suits your purposes.

What you are going to have random images appearing on the first page or are you going to keep changing the actual first page??

I really think that's a bad idea. Randomly displayed parts of the splash page would be okay but I really think that you need to have a set look and feel to that in order to give your site a memorable identity. If you keep changing it dramatically you'll just confuse people (hey, wait, where am I? Is this the same site? What's going on?)

im going to have a Random Splash page
What will happen is the page will call a script which well ask for the image the script will look in a directory and Pick a picture from that Directory

I was maybe going to stay within the same Theme as the rest of my site maybe with Different animals and stuff.. not to sure

Oh and im going to have random images on the first page
When someone comes to my site they will get a Splash page Then if they refresh that page they will get a new image
no Auto refresh or anything else like that i dont like Auto Refreshs

Hmmmmm....

No one in their right mind would sit there and refresh a splash page. Or at least *I* wouldn't. So what's the point?

And I don't see the connection between Corbis images and Photoshop tutorials. I'd say save your money. Show some images from your tutorials. Something that'll knock my socks off and make me just *have* to find out how you did that.

If you must have a splash page, make it something that explains what the site is about and entices the visitor to go further.
