what's wrong with this forum?

i have review at least three other websites, and i got nothing, even a single review from others...i think that's a bit unfair..

-but i respect all the people here at this forum, it's just i don't know the reason why they ignore my website...is it that bad?

I took a look at the first one you posted. I like the layout. The only thing that I would suggest is centering the entire content. That left alignment throws me off for some reason. I also didn't like the popups I received when I went to your forums. Those are always a big turnoff for me, though. Otherwise, I think it looks great!

If you want people to take your sites seriously you need to get rid of the bravehost hosting, the ads and pop ups make it look and feel cheap and nasty.
With all that advertising for bravehost on there one would hope they were paying you for it. If this was hosted on a real domain with all that advertising you'd be making more than enough to pay for it all.
Real web hosting isn't very expensive and you'd be able to use a real domain name too.

I'm going to take a guess here and say these are templates being offered by your host? Looking at your code you have a double up of head tags, the doc, html and head tags are doubled.

I'm actually a bit peeved that firefox isn't blocking these pop ups ads.
I get a pop up on every damn page I visit, sorry but it's just to annoying

If you look at the 2nd website you will see that it is a community for other free websites. I see where you're coming from and purchasing domain names and hosting is beneficial but if you are running a community for free hosted websites, wouldn't it be best to have a free website yourself. Otherwise it kind of doesn't work does it.

yeah, my second website is a community of free hosted website owners! and my website is also free...i can't do anything about the ads...because i'm sticked to that..eventough i want to change host it will be much difficult because there are so many people attached to my site because its a community...therefore if i change my host, it might result to loss of members and confusion! i don't want that to happen..

arrrgghh popups soon as I get one popup I'm out of there never to return. I purposly never read a popup I close it from the task bar and I don't think I'm the only person that does that.
your site seemed slow to load (probably loading popup in the backgrouns) and I didn't stay around to read much
BUT on the plus side I think people like to see the face of the person they're dealing with so I like the openness attitude.

if you worry that youll lose members because of your transfer to a padi domain and hosting, then transition them over the new one... I hate to say this but I think tripod has far more less unobtrusive ads than bravenet...

Also there are sites that offer free php hosting with lesser ads, why not try those. Site wise, you can code, you can make a site, but isnt it time to get your domain and show them what youve got?.

Good luck with those sites Marvz, good job so far.

I have just updated my website..

*I removed the clock icon at the banner and replace it with a live digital clock.

*I removed all the link hover javascript and used just css link hover stlye. and all of my link hovers will work fine in all browsers.

*I removed the exchange link image and just replace it with an exhcange link text just to make it more compatible with the website's color.

*I placed the link of the website reviews of the FHWC members beside their website's title on the "members websites" page so that visitors can have instant access to the site reviews.

*I added another page for the "members websites" page since the it is too crowded and to lessen load time

by the way i'm seeking opinion about this:

what can you say about my favicon?...

Can you suggest on what content should i add to my website? or should i add another page?

suggest from this categories:

*Attractiveness
*Accessibilty
*Interactivity
*Informative
*Usefullness
*(Anything else in your mind)

Thanks!

good job on the site marvz, your favicon ties up well with the site logo... You need to simplify the banner with the clock... All in all good job on the site... I guess you can now play around with it for a bit and change some things here and there, I suggest you put up a general directory page for all the free domain sites... and include some pages for viable free web hosting sites... to help any future members...

A good move changing hosts

To address your topics:

Attractiveness
When I first saw the site I thought - too blue, but now it's growing on me. The blues and white are being used pretty well althought you could loose a bit of blue background

Accessibilty
Your site is not very accessibilty friendly, but I am not sure if you mean to 508 standards etc. The animations for accessibilty is a no-no.
Your site does not display very well with CSS disabled (is really bad)
Here is a webspeed report with your file sizes and loading times etc

Here is a validation on your html

Interactivity
The site is interactive but I feel the blue links and blue text fails this

Informative
Not really, while the index tells what the site is about there is no real information (thats easy to find) on things such as free web hosts

Usefullness
See above

(Anything else in your mind)
On the index you have "Welcome to Free Hosted Websites Community!" but beside that you have "Enter Password Protected Area" which is like offering free stuff to people that pay for it. Why have the Password Protected Area? What's the reasoning, are you hiding something? Going to charge me once I've signed up? these are just a couple of things people could be thinking.

the password protected area log-in form is just a password gate for the "add your websites" page...as you see..there is the "members websites" page...if a user signs up to our community they will receive a username and password which they will use to log-in to the password protected area, after logging in they will be redirected to the "add your websites" page in which they will sign a form about their website's informations such as title, url, description, logo code etc..and this informations will be put at the "members websites" page view it here: http://fhwc.50webs.com/websites.htm

hi everyone!

i have just updated my website(again)..

*Updates

- Link Hovers - I replaced the link hovers with green instead of white to make it more readable.

- Lay-out's Edges - I added some gradient effects on the lay-out's edges to make it smoother and not to look like it's just a box.

- i added some new contents

- my community has grown bigger now.

ok
i like the first website
especially the left green mine i think is very good. and how it wraps around the central column and the right menu

the choice of colours is very good. green then blue then purple

now the problems
i have a bigger screen than you and there is a problem : the banner is vertically centered, but your website is not ( it is aligned left). it gives a weird effect.
left menu is perfect
main content (in blue) : the titles are overdone, like 'how to build you own' and 'tips and tricks' , i would get rid of the bluish background,
why do you write the page url just before the page subtitle?
the titles should be changed for each page.
there are some problems with the colours, there is is the same problem with the right column. there is a darker graphic at the bottom and up. i think they should be on the same colour.

well anyway good work
