Please review my website: Gamesrealcheap.com
Hi,
I launched my website in june. To date i have not made one sale. Everyone who looks at the website says that it looks very good. I subscribe to three diffrent PPC Search engines, so i get a good amount of Targeted visitors. I need to know why customers are not buying from my store. Please help if possible.

I wouldn't buy becasue the only options you have for payment are Paypal and Check/Money Order. After going back to the home page, I did notice that you have this notice, on the far right, at the very bottom if I scrolled all the way down.
Also, I tried to find contact info for your company (Phone number, address, or at least what state you are located in), and couldn't find anything, just Live Chat (which after one minute no one was there) and a feedback form.

PS. I decided to do some checking on prices, and about half of what I found (just about all the ones for x-box) i found cheaper elsewhere. But still my other items above would be my main issues.

Hi Scorpio,
Thanks for reviewing some other sites
My first impression is NAOSCS... Not Another osCommerce Site I think you really need to do some work to try an move away from the traditional osc set-up as they do stand out a mile... Have a look at this thread: http://www.youcangetit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=586 and see how you could change the appearance...
The logo looks a little tost up there as well on a whit BG so maybe do something to "beef" it up a little..
RE: the PayPal. You will get sales but you will also lose them if PP is your only option. Some people such as Greg and I, will not use PP and will simply look elsewhere to buy the goods. I know its more expense but investiage a merchant account if your serious about trading online.
Having full contact info as well will really help your cause...

Hi,
thanks for your input.
I now have contact info.
Is there another good way to collect payment besides opening a merchant account?
ps.
I know my front page isn't the greatest. I had someone setup the frame work for me, and this is the store front that they gave me.
I will be changing it in the near future.
Thanks

Instead of just a list of things you sell, how about some comments? Do a review of some of the best games, give me some reason to stay as a simple list of items won't do it.

Hi,
thanks for your input, but i thought they had websites that do reviews. gamers usually know what they want.
The website also has a review page so that buyers can leave their reviews on the game that they purchased. As time goes on there will be more game reviews. New buyers will be able to read about a game before they make a purchase.

Took a quick look around and the design just didn't seem "my type". That's not necessarily a bad thing though, the only games I buy are usually when they're way cheaper on ebay or in discount bins
One thing I noticed is that some of your small box pictures are .bmp files.. Super Strategy 4pack for example, 170kb in size. There are some other .bmp pictures on your main page too which gives it a pretty long download time on dialup.. maybe some people give up before the site is done loading?

Thanks.
I replaced them with jpeg. The site is pretty fast now.

First up, NEVER resize images with the width/height tags. Apart from making the images distorted it slows the loading time, us poor old dial up users really notice stuff like this.
A couple of things on your index page: 365 days a year? while I suppose it would work in print media on the interweb everything is 24/7 365 days a year.
The other thing is the "welcome guest" While it's ok to name people ona forum IMO it's to personilaized for a e-commerce site, it's kind of steping back from professional into homepage.
Your links are confusing, (index again), you have "log yourself in" in underlined black with light blue on hover, down a little you have "Click here to read our Feedback ..." in blue with 'here' bold black which is the link. all your other links are same size/colour as your text so is making me work to find stuff.
Your shipping and returns page
Doesn't state much about it, you have a currency thing so I am guessing you send outside of US. (is on index page "we ship worldwide" which is easy to miss).
Things like the language, and curriences are wasted bandwidth, you state US prices etc (which is great) and people can see it's english so you don't need the bits you have.
Your site, the more I look into it the more I'm loosing trust in it.
I dont play games but when reviewing sites I pretend I do ... On your index page you have a link to your ebay feedback. while your feedback is all good it makes one wonder if your a e-commerce site or a splash page for your ebay listings. if you 'check stock' it opens a new window with someother sites URL.
To me it seems your a middle man, while nothing wrong with that, unless you can offer everything in one place I'd probably go to somehwere where I could get it all in one place. I wouldn't trust giving my credit card details to you. Is there anyway you can get the in stock options as a RSS feed or something? something that wont go off site, especially in a new window

Thanks for reveiwing my site.
I have already made some changes to the links, and "we ship world wide"
I am not clear on what you are saying about the "Shipping and Return Page"
It seems to have all the infomation on how an item is shipped/returned. Return address i will add when i get my P.O. Box #
My intentions with the e-bay feedback link, is to show customers that i am a reliable seller and not a crook. Also that they will receive their items quickly. I can't see this doing any harm to my sales on "Games Real Cheap"
I don't collect any Credit Card Details. That's done via paypal.
You are right about the language/curriences box. I will have to find out how to delete them.
I don't know what an RSS Feed is? i will have to check that out.
Thanks for the HTML link, and for helping me out

One thing i dont really like... is the loge and the 365 days a year.... i would say remove that effect ok 365 days a year and put a simpler log if nothing better....
Other then that... really nice and clean... well organized

Thanks for looking at my site.
It's hard work especially if you are starting from zero.
I agree with you about the logo. Somehow it doesn't quite fit the page.
I am going to see if i can find someone to make me a better logo.

The shipping page needs more information about shipping, i.e. that you ship world wide, also rates, insurance (if any), time frames - if I buy from ebay it can take 6-8 weeks to get here, for a game that could be the difference between version one and two. Also wouldn't fit into your 30day money back policy.
Also (for your safety) you need to state a custom declaration, something like: any fees or taxs included by customs is your (the buyers) problem blah blah and we will not fake custom forms (add happy birthday etc) for you ...
Take a look around ebay for proper wordage as many dealers have this clause.
