Hello all.
This may not be the most content rich site, but I am still learing how to do things. That was the purpose of Contest Hound. Not to mention it makes a few bucks, but not anywhere close to covering the time I have invested.

The URL is http://www.members.home.net/contesthound

I hope you will review the site and provide me with suggestions. I know that a few pages are slow to load but I believe that has a lot to do with the program I am using to make it. It seems to leave tons of space in the html. I have just bought Dreamweaver and that should help to clean up the html.

I would appreciate any and all of your comments.

Thanks,

Bob

Looks very nice!

The only thing about it is that the body is too small. Use percentage for the widths to fit on all screen sizes.

I disagree, I personally like fixed widths and use them in my sites. But it really is a personal preference. If you want to use them and are concerned about those who like the site to fill the screen, the consider adding a background over on the right. For example: http://www.eas.com

I personally don't like the font comic sans - it feels like a child's site because of it. I would personally pick a different font.

The only other thing is the logo. I would make that stand out more than the ad at the top.

Good job!

When I first started to make the site I was using percetages but later changed to fixed width so that the information would look the same on everyone's monitors.

I had never thought of using a background to fill in the space. I certainly will be using that idea in the future, probably when I get my own domain name. I am just trying to determine if it is worth the hosting charges.

I used the Comic Sans because, as you alluded to, it has a playful feel and all the other fonts I have are boring. Any suggestions of perhaps a more appropriate one and a place I can get it would be welcome.

Thanks for you responses and feedback!

I'll make this quick...

1) Center the page.

2) There is too much crap at the bottom of the page. I'd scrap the webring thing unless it's giving you some mad hits. All you really need is the Copyright info.

3) Personally I like bullets on the side menu. It makes it look more organized to me.

Nice layout and all...
