Please Review 'Balls For All'
Hi there.
I am looking for a review of my website... Most of the pages, links, and buttons are all under construction so you will not be able to access much. Anyways please let me know what you think of the overall design and layout, colours etc.
Thanks

Hi skrobbie,
I'd be happy to review your site if you can promise me that you'll come back and read it. I've done reviews for several of your classmates and I haven't seen any responses from them. I don't mind helping you out but I don't want to do it if you're never going to read it.

First off, your site name is totally awesome. It caught my attention, and is pretty funny (I'll remember it). It sounds more like a charity that gives toy balls to kids than an online store, but cool none the less.
The actual site is a little on the boring side, and doesn't look like a soccer site at all. Maybe you should use more soccer-y colors and shades like green, white, and black. Instead of those curvy images in the corners of the site, why not have a picture of a soccer ball or something? It just doesn't feel like a soccer site.
Your source code looks decent. You have one instance of div-itis that I saw (maybe you're planning to put more in there):
<div id="banner">
<div id='bannertitle'>
BALLS FOR ALL
</div>
</div>
You've got some validation errors that should be fixed (like a double title tag).
You should probably switch your i tags with em, because i is deprecated.
Catchy name, but the design doesn't reflect the theme of the content.

Okay,
The design here looks sort of nice but from looking at the front page it's hard to tell that this site sells sports balls. The scrolly graphics in the header and sidebar are at odds with the topic. One thing you need to remember is that design needs to be appropriate for the topic of the site.
It's also a good idea to put some products on the front page. That helps to draw people into the site right away and gives you a chance to promotoe any specials or deals. The home page has to have something more than a bunch of text. In fact, most people won't read a lot of introductory text on an eCommerce site - they'll want to get straight to the products.
