Please critique MyTopSiteList.com
Hello!
A company which I am a part of has just launched a new web service at MyTopSiteList.com. It provides co-branded top site lists for webmasters looking to increase their site traffic, content and additional revenue.
The site has only went live for about 3 days now and we are still updating the layout and copy. What do you think of its design and structure?
One of the biggest decisions we had to make was to either verify email addresses or not. Currently, when you go sign up, we send a "Confirm Account Registration" email to your specified email address. While that does ensure that we get a valid address, it has already cost us one potential sign up. Do you think this verification is worth it in the long run?
Best Wishes.

First off Niuniu, I just wanted to let you know I was the one who deleted your post in the Advertising Forum. If you want an explanation as to why please drop me a line. Ok, on to the review...
1) The logo needs some work. It looks fine, but it's pretyt boring. Try adding a symbol or a special text effect to fix this problem. Oh yeah, and I'd change the green to the yellow you use on the side menu.
2) I don't like how you have that you style line to goes out from the logo to the right side. I would scrap that and then maybe make the "sign up" and "sign in" links into cool graphic buttons. This would get you away from the Yahoo type design.
That's about it. The design and layout is VERY clean and good looking. Nicely organized. The site could be excellent if you changed the few little things...

Yeah, pretty much everything justin said was right on the money.
One more thing: the "sign up now" button on the bottom doesnt go with the color scheme. Maybe you were going for that look so it would stand out more, I dunno. Perhaps some more blue in the coloring.
Good design! I like it.

Open your logo up in Adobe Photoshop or something and add some effects.
Overall, the design is neat.

I basically disagree with what has been said so far. When I first looked at this I thought I was at Yahoo! for a minute there. Honestly, I would scrap this and try something different.

The only thing is, is to xhange the nav bar on the left, change the colors to green to match your logo. Any maybe change the sign up button too, it looks like it doesnt go with the site...

I totally agree with Megan. I thought I was at Yahoo! too. The only thing I really like is how it looks so organized.
