Is this page good enough to put in a portfolio (try 2)?
Hi
quite a while ago I put on a site to be reviewed on this forum entitled "Is this page good enough to put in a portfolio" and the answer I received at that time was a flat no. I have endeavored to create a new site which is good enough to be put in a portfolio on the same theme. My theme is a fantasy photographer I made up using royalty-free creative Commons pictures of weddings. I have the site in two slightly different versions. Version 1 has an hourglass indication that the slideshow has turned on and will shortly commence with images changing and the other does the same thing without this hourglass indication. Please tell me what you think of these sites and whether or not they are good enough to be put into a portfolio. Links below.

Getting better, I think. The black and white is nice for a photo site, but I think for weddings the scheme should be a little bit lighter. Like maybe white background instead.
I am getting married in June and was looking at photographers in December. Most of their sites are terrible. I can also tell you what would appeal to me as a bride and a web designer.
The navigation needs to be consistent from page to page. It gets harder for people to use a site when things move around. Especially in the photo gallery, when the whole layout breaks. The graphics there are really not appropriate for a wedding site. Use something simpler and/or more elegant.
I also really don't like those slideshow things. I always want to be able to look at photos at my own pace. I think it would be better at this stage to concentrate on getting a good design done rather than adding extra functionality.

Hello. I have looked through your site. I like it. I think that you should use bigger main page. I think that you should use more photos. Maybe you should to use more than simle desing to show quality of your work. In general I like your website design.

Hi there, I've looked through both sites. I personally like the hourglass but i think it should be located somewhere else. It over lapses the buttons and it just seems out of place.
I also think you should fix the scroll bar on the main page, it has no purpose.
I really like what you did with the pictures, but i think a lighter background would be better for a wedding album.
In general i think you did a pretty good job, just make these minor changes and it would be better in my opinion.
