My first real website is up and running! I think its totally fantastic...(maybe because I´ve stared at it for thousand hours straight)

I would like to get some honest critic, please dont spare it folks. I want to hear about the good and bad of my site...

I have only viewed it in IE 5. so anyone with Netscape or Opera please gimme some feedback...

The site is supposed to be an Internet Marketing And Business resources site...how does that sound?

One more thing, I´m Icelandic, so my english is not 100%, if you find something that is hard to read I would love to hear about it...

Here is the site: http://www.marketingbusinessonline.com

Enjoy!

ps: anyone interested in exchanging links, please send me email to the email on the site...thanks

Sounds like about 3 other sites I've reviewed here in the recent past. Seems to be kind of a common topic.

As for your design, the biggest problem is that you navbar is way too big. It's taking up way too much space. The text shoud not be centered either. I also think that the greenish-yellow and blue combination could use some improvement. The red and bright blue text you've used for emphasis does not help.

The rest of the layout seems to be a little bit disorganized. The page elements don't seem to have a lot of order to them, and the logo could use some work as well (try a more unique font!)

On the main page, you should have some highlights of new and interesting articles rather than a description of what your site is about - I think the title makes that obvious.

Sorry to burst your bubble ... more construtive comments tommorrow maybe Smiling

Get Netscape. It's a free download and you'll need it. There's simply too much for me to list when it comes to Netscape compatibility issues.

The color scheme is straightforward and easy on the eyes. It's simple but has all of the basics. I'd defiantly scratch that "members area" image (I hate that effect). Make something a little more professional maybe a box style banner with the login fields. I'm sure others will have more specifics. I've got to run (it's Saturday evening after all) but I'll come back and critique it in more detail once you've made some Netscape improvements.

Adam,

You've brought up a really good point that's rather of a sore spot with me. I personally prefer NS and use it as my primary browser.

Yet time and time again I see people request reviews (here and elsewhere) where it's obvious they've never even bothered to test in NS and want someone else to tell them how it works in NS.

Hello!? If you're a webmaster and concerned with compatibility (as well you should be) you need to have a copy of NS on hand to test it yourself. I'm more than happy to offer a critique *after* you've at least tried to work out any obvious compatibility bugs. But don't expect me to do your homework for you.

/climbs down off soapbox. That is all. Carry on.

On a 800x600 screen you get a horizontal scroll bar.

The navigation is far, far, far too big and I agree with Megan, redo the logo. You're gonna have to to stop the scroll bar anyway.

The members area text just sticks out like a sore thumb, have the login there instead of a totally separate page. & the bit underneath it is too big as well, it encroaches on to the text next to it.

The bit at the bottom looks odd, it just sort of seems stuck there!

Check out some of the other threads here to get some sites to check out. Test what you have on various different machines, screens, browsers etc yourself, we don't mind checking things out but you really must test things yourself first.

Thanks for the critic peeps, I have to admit that I´m not very good at testing...

I will do my best to make the site more browser friendly, starting on Netscape... Wink

Also I´m gonna redo the layout, make the nav bar smaller and get rid of the members area image...

I´ll be back when its done...

Thanks again all!
