non profit Web Design studio site
I would like a critique of this web design studio site:
http://dynamicwebdesign.cjb.net
We have people of vastly differing skills working together to bulid sites for non profit organisations, all in the name of work experience.
BTW, I know that in IE you might get a script error. This is due to geocities ads code, not my code.
Thank you.

There's not too much there now. Here's are some things that I noticed.
Overall it looks good. I would just remove some of the distractions.

I actually find that the background image is very successful in this case - it works very well artistically. I think this page would look really, really boring on a plain background. However, what stands out is the word "work" which isn't exactly too exciting - would make people think of drudgery. "Work for the Dole"???
YOu should have a better navbar on every page. Just take the buttons from the front page and line the up on the left side. I'm gettting a file not found error when I click on the "home" button.
On the "team" page, you aren't really planning on using those cartoons permanently are you? What I would do is take pictures of yourselves and styleize them in photoshop, kind of like what webmonkey.com or sitepoint.com does. Ohhh... maybe you are. They jsut don't look very professional. YOur clients aren't likely to be interested in anime or video games or whatever else you've got on there so you should find a better way of doing that.
Otherwise I really like the design. You've managed to create a really simple and usable site (except for that broken "home" link), that is still stylish and unique.

I like the overall feel of this site. Well done!
The rollovers on the home page work well but are maybe a tad bland. I also like the background, it does work well in this case but I personally would make it static.
I think that you will need the navigation to be at the side of the page (you could use the same buttons as on the home page but a bit smaller) especially when there is more content so that people can easily see it. Keep it at the bottom as well, that never hurts.
I also go with Megan on the cartoon characters on the team page, doesn't give a very professional feel.
Very very good start. Sort out the home link though and keep up the good work

Thank you for your input
The home 404 error I know about and forgot to fix. Geocities would not work with a .htm index page, so I had to change it to .html and forgot to change all the links.
'Work for the Dole' does sound unexciting but it is the name of the scheme we are doing this under. Most people are forced to do a Work for the Dole scheme, but most of us doing this Web Design project volunteered and wanted to do it. So I thought I would plaster it over the site to show that we are proud of what we are doing.
The bio pics are not long term. We just needed something to put there untill we can get hold of a digital camera.
Thanks people
_Nathan.
