Hi everyone,

I just finished this web page for a client. If anyone would like to provide feedback on it's design and most importantly browser/operating system compatibility it would be most welcomed.

Thanks,

Front page: red too garish, serif font ugly, layout scattered and disorganized, confusion about branding (is this Sure Alarm Systems or Ademco International?), can't find a navbar ????? Is this it?????

Tried NS 6.1 & IE 5.5

It's not bad, but it could definitely use some work...

1) The logo needs some work. First off, you need to make the logo stand out from other parts of the site. As it stands right now, it looks like there are two logos. I'm guessing the "Sure Alarm Systems" graphic is the real logo, so maybe you should shrink the "Ademco" logo and make it just black/grey. Second, spice up the logo! Right now it's pretty much just text.

2) I like the middle content area of the page, but the right column is kind of plain. It's just a graphic and some text underneath. Add some color, like you have in the center column with the red lines, etc..

There's not much else to review.

Thanks Justin for the constructive criticism.

>>Second, spice up the logo!<<

I asked them for their logo so I could scan it or copy it from a floppy but they could not find it. I would like to spice it up but it's only a $100 job.(Web Page)

>>you should shrink the "Ademco" logo and make it just black/grey<<

Yes that's a good idea. It's like that on their T-shirts.(Black)

>>Add some color, like you have in the center column with the red lines, etc..<<

I just can't think of what to put there.

I like the personalization of the site.. looks good to the eye.. little lack of color and seems a bit scattered.. Overall I really liked it, though

I really like the color. It's alarms - it should be red. You really want to get people's attention.

The rest I agree with everyone else. It's a little scattered and it seems like there are two logos. Try looking at other sites and see what home page could be a stand alone home page. That's what you want yours to be. I kept looking for links because it really doesn't pull it off by itself.

Here is my 2 cents:

1. Pics look very clear

2. Page loads fast

3. There is realy no info about the company or its products, just a phone number and a blurb about security (not a web designers fault)

4. I would do something about the gray bar a the top. It doesnt extend the entire page. Get rid of it or make it white.

5. The phone number in gray needs a little spacing and the 1/2, Im not sure if that means a half or that I can use either a 1 or a 2 there, maybe thats a bahamas thing.

Great job overall, I think its almost there. Simple and clean.

As of 9/2/2001 I thought the site was very nicely done.

You went for simpler is better! Relying on others proofing of images, and very little formatting was smart! OR! you did the proofing, and the layout.

I take all of the photos on my sites, some people ask, hey why do you like analog versus digital? Because digital is a toy, and you always have to have the next best thing. I paid 950 bucks for my canon elan II e and I love it. AND! the intruction manual is only a half inch thick, versus a one inch 3.1 megapixel thick book for the latest mavica. Plus I get to get really personal with the images I scan coming from my developer. 2000 by 2000 is fine enough resolution of those images, sure the analog is poorer resolution than the digital cameras, but I will never use the quality of a 1600x1280 image unless I am doing art photography work, and then there are special circumstances wrapped around it.

The reason I did not knock this site because it did not have any company info is because it is part of a focused ring within their area.

But I will give you my first 5 yorkie award
