Yes, the load time is very painfull indeed.
First of all a background colour is not set so I see grey as the background colour which doesn't really go with it.
The drop down menu I think is too close to the top, try moving it down slightly.
The images are actually quite big, what about making them thumbs then users can decide whether or not to view the actual size?
Nice site.
One more thing - the text "nicora photoblog" doesn't stand out enough, I didn't notice it at first. Maybe you can try making it a bit more noticable.

Must you use tables and HTML4.01? It looks like a fairly simple layout... something XHTML/CSS could handle well.

MY God! It's almost 3MB, and was painful even on cable!!!!
I would be MUCH better to use thumbnails and link to the larger photos. The photos are nice, and I like the framing/border effect you have used but personally I would rather not wait and scroll down so much. Besides.......so much on one page is kind of visual overload you know?
