Could you please take a look and tell me what you think. Also, can you give me some input on having the home page one color (say black) and the rest of the site another (white)... My boss seems to think that this is an acceptable way of designing, but I don't think so. Thanks.

Not bad... you really need to work on your graphics (always anti alias!!). Is that half-circle on the top part of the navbar graphics supposed to make them look like glass or something? I think the headings on the sub-pages look great - maybe you should use that with the title on the main page - it would help to unify the site.

You have "Domestic" and "International" orders on there - how do I know which one to pick? Ohh... I see your address on the bottom - a lot of people wouldn't notice that and might get confused. I think it's great that you are actually considering your international customers though.

I agree on anti-aliassing the graphics and cutting the load time - if you are rushed, you could simply remove the mouseovers which would drasically cut the dl time.

- As Megs said, change the graphics. Too jagged.

- Load time is WAY too high. This seems to be a combination of both large graphics and a slow server. Not sure what you can do about the server - maybe it was temporary - but make your graphics smaller and/or get rid of some. Your page is roughly 140KB large. Many design sites recommend keeping your site under 35KB; I find that a bit extreme, but over 75KB is certainly too large.

- From your home page, I have no idea what you sell. Actually, my first guess was ball bearings; when I went further into the site, I found out you sold various oils. One of the keys to selling product is letting your customer know which product Smiling

- There is nothing wrong, in my opinion, of making the home page a different colour than the rest of the site. See http://www.webmonkey.com/ for a good example of this - their home page is interesting, captures the attention, and is your first impression. The inner pages are still nice, but much more efficient and dedicated to presenting information (and advertising) than the home page. Using a different colour for each page is not good, though.

Hi Metzwiller,
I think your buttons are a little too big. the image in the center is nice but I think the text about the product should go in between the buttons so nobody has to scroll to see what the product is.
You might be able to accomplish this by making the buttons all fit along the side (either side will do) reducing the size of the image and wrapping the text around it -- just a thought Smiling.
I'm also visualizing the logo as part of a solid blue(or other site color) bar across the top then repeating that bar with the subheadings throughout the site, could also include more company info in that bar to further streamline the page. Sorry if I'm not clear and rambling on, I'm a bit tired tonight Smiling.

take care,
Carolyn
