New Idea + need a favor

Good idea. What you should do is set up different categories for people to rant on. And specific subjects. Then people could rant about news articles, specific celebrities, specific traffic problems etc.

THe design needs work. Lose the beveled effects. Lose the blue - go for a more forceful colour scheme. You want to get people riled up so their rants will be more interesting. Blue will just calm people down. Go with a nice tomato red or something like that.

I do like the font you've chosen - lose the bevel effects on that and make the pouty face bigger and yellow with a red tongue.

Cool job, just don't like popup windows.

You may find this a very popular site, I used to visit a simliar topic site, I cant find the url off hand but it was done in frames (well done) and had sections you visit via a dial and the rants changed every few seconds, was a very addictive site.

I looked at your site in Netscape 4.7 and you have some extra thing son there, example the &nbsp is showing, looks like you missed out the ";", but looking at your source code i see you have a body tag in your head section before the title and another one after the /head tag, you also have a script tag between the /head and body tag.

you have &nbsp &nbsp, it should be    

there is also a light table border in Netscape, you may want to check your table tags, or run it thru a validator

Ok I took megans idea for the colors, and now i have two to choose from which one is the better eye candy

#2 is much better to me, feel warm and safe.

I like the idea but I just don't think that either colour is right. Go for a definite striking colour - the blue is too calming and the yellow/red is too warming. Go for a bold red and make the face stand out more.

Once you have more rants a category system would work very well and probably a lot easier to manage/navigate.

Don't have the links open in new browser windows.

You say "Wait I got it, why do you rant on about it!!!!" should be .....why don't you rant on about it!!!!

It would look a lot better if you got rid of the gradients and the bevels. I just don't think that's going to work here. A bolder, hard edged look would be better I think.

It's okay, I like what you've done with the title lettering there. That big face has got to go though. I liked the pouty one you had before better.

Watch your grammar! "one of those days" not "one of them days" - sounds like a country hick.

What you might want to think about here is allowing for expansion. Are you not going to organize things into categories? I really think that would be a good idea, but you'd have to incorporate some sort of navigation for that. Might need to reorganize the layout a little bit.

I will do catagories later on if it goes over at all.

I only have the latest versions of Netscape and IE, so could anyone look at My site and tell me if there is anything wrong with any of the pages.

I much prefer the face you have on there now but I'm still not sure about the whole look, I think it's the stripes! On the submit page you have a > showing at the top as you have the extra > in the head part after the meta tags.

First up I think you spelt "haveing" wrong, dont think it has an 'e', double check with speel checking first as I'm the worst speller

its displays the same in Netscape 4.7 as it does in IE 5
I'm like The Webmistress, not sure about the stripes, they are very "bright" (i think)

If you do keep the stripes, you may want to fix the words at the left, looks like it has white between the letters

one thing thou, I got 3 pop ups in Netscape but only two in IE, who said Netscape wasnt special

And what did you mean Busy, by "white between the letters". I did put a white glow behind the links to make it more readable against the red. is that what you were talkin about?

the white glow looks like the panel was white but then you added the stripes but didnt fill the letters etc, maybe make the glow or shadow a little more sharper, or even a spray can grafetti (<-- new word ) effect behind it.

Yeah I think making it look more grafetti () would be good. I'm still not sure about the stripes though!

That one looks good! There, now you're headed in the right direction. The only thing I can complain about is that the yellow bar looks a little greenish to me.

Yeah I like that as well, the only thing I will add is that the rounded part of it, under Rant On, is very jaggedy.
