Hi, ptrferdinand - I've noticed all your excellent reviews of other site! Thanks a lot for all your help - I hope you'll stick around.
Honestly, I'm not sure I'm the best person to be reviewing this site. I'm totally not part of your target audience I don't even know what this is about. It does look very dark to me but I think your audience would probably enjoy it. It looks like you've got a good setup here in terms of the number of forums and topics covered. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to spread too far right away.
I am noticing a few interface issues. In the header area, I think the logo text should be a little bigger so it's easier to read. The navigation item's on the right side are similarly small and hard to read. If you're going to do small text like that in graphics either use a font specially designed for it or make sure it's good and sharp. The three icons below should all have text next to them - i have no idea what the first two are supposed to be for.
At the bottom of the page, the login boxes are barely distinguishable from the page background. One of the benefits of default form colours is that it jumps out from the page right away. The user can immediately see where they can interact and what they need to do. I think it's okay to deviate a little bit from the default but not this much.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll try and work on these issues and will post here once done.
I currently run my own pretty successful forum, and I've admin'd on some of the largest niche boards out there, so take this with a grain of salt.
After the buzz from NFSU2 wears off, will people really stay on your site? I see this all the time with Final Fantasy type and other specific video game forums. After the buzz wears off, or inbetween game releases, will people keep coming back?
This is something to think about. Also, is this just a "for fun" forum, or do you hope to get advertising revenue on there as well?

Well, see, this isn't really a problem, I have alredy made a logo to convert the forums into the "Racing Forums." I thought of this before, and have worked to fix it. BTW, there are still Need for Speed Hot Persuit Forums which are posted in pretty avidly, and just because the name says one thing, it doesn't mean you can't discuss others.
About money... I've been making sites for 5 years now, and in that time I have made less then $100 off of advertisements, I will only sacrifice my sites look and feel for improvement, and making $100 per half a decade isn't really needed. I host my own sites and have never had any money problems...

Gotcha. Well, good luck with everything. It's not my type of site (in terms of my interests), but it's not half bad.

Very nice look. Clean, and the text stands out well from the background.
The only thing I don't like are the icons next to the register link. As a first time viewer of your site, how am I supposed to know what those mean? I would suggest changing them to text buttons like you have right above them.
Also, your new posts icon should probably be a bit brighter. That yellow is so light that I would worry about any color-blind people being able to tell a difference.
Great work! As a fan of the NFS games, I think it really captures the essence of the game - nice one.

Yes, once I saw that template on the phpBB site I downloaded it, tunned it, and installed it right away. Do you have any more comments?

If you have just forums, you will need to promote them alot. Looks nice but maybe invest in VbForums
