Yeah, pretty good for your first try...

1) I would just keep the splash page where you pick which language you want. There is no need for two splash pages...

2) Overall the site looks outdated. The buttons look "old." The overall site just looks that way.

3) I agree that you should have the same amount of buttons on each side.

4) I also think that you should have the full navigation menu on each page, so you don't have to keep going back to the main site.

5) I would make the background move along with the content of your site. There is no reason why you should have the bg in a fixed position.

I have fairly new to the world of html programming, but have a strong passion to learn (and there is so much to learn) I started studying computer programming (QBasic) and some with html. There are a lot of cut and paste java, but eventually I want to learn to code it myself. Well these is my first experience in this field, so any advice you expert webmasters out their can give me will be greatly appreciated. I am the webmaster for this site, but far from being a master like some of you out there.

Its not all that bad. I think the only problem are the button links. You have more on the left than on the right, and seeing that you are going for the "centered" sort of look, it throws everything off. Besides that, those button links are sort of "Out Of Style", maybe try making different links, or I could help you with that.

But the site looks OK besides those few things.

I agree about the buttons. The problem with buttons like this is that you have to have very short headings. If you're trying to cram a lot of words on there it looks stupid. Especially if you have to shrink the font size to fit a couple of them on.

My other big gripe is that you've got two splash pages - the one with the animation and the one with the language choice. Just start out with the language one - it's just annoying to have to go through all that to get to the point, and the first one doesn't really coordinate with the rest of your site.

Since I'm looking at the English page it's kind of hard to figure out what Mariachi Los Arrerios are. Maybe if you just put something like "up and coming latin band" or something like that it would help people who don't already know.

I'm glad to see that you included a home button on every page, but it would be better to have a full navigation menu, so people don't have to go back and forth.

Good effort for a first attempt!

Thumbs up for having an informative introductionary paragraph. Thumbs down for not having equal amount of buttons on each side and having a splash page. You will find in the long-run that having a opening page where you have to "enter" will hurt more than help you. Try to find some kind of feature or something that gives the page some action and color. Something that will keep the visitor interested. Hope I helped and good luck in the world of webmastering!

Well i must say that site is alot better then my first attempt a website. I think it is nicely laid out. I would have to agree with everyone else about the buttons. make sure you have equal on each side if you go with that look. I would consider changing the over all look of those though. They are out of style. You need something that your traffic will enjoy and something that is not so plain. Maybe some simple roll over effects or some more color. Other then that great start!
