I took to heart some suggestions made in this forum and changed my page a bit. I tried to improve the opening graphics and changed the color scheme. I also implemented frames.

Please critique it and rip it up. I need lots of help. After looking at some of the pages in this forum, I'm wondering if I should go back to washing dishes.

A question about frames:
I talked to some other html developers who don't care for frames because they operate so differently on different platforms and in different browsers. And some people are still using older browsers which don't use frames at all.

And I noticed that most of the pages here don't use frames. What's your opinion on frames?

Thanks,
Paul Corrigan

Only use frames when the user can't tell your site has frames. No scroll bars, no borders, etc... On your site I can tell you use frames because there is a scroll bar for the navigation. So I would use tables...

Your graphics look "old fashioned" also. Actually, they don't look "high tech" is a better word. Get a good graphics program like PSP or Photoshop...

I agree about the graphics. They just don't look up to date. But the layout is really clean and I like that.

Also try to come up with a better logo.

Frames defiantly have their uses. Just don’t over use them or use them where other technologies can be used.

If you’re going to worry about compatibility and frames, you might as well design your pages without images and any client-side scripting (Java/JavaScript). But it’s still something to think about.

I’ve personally never liked the looks of frames much; the only site I’ve used them on professionally is www.guineapigpub.com. And if I were going to do that site over again (which I will be soon, but with a totally new layout) I’d use SSI for the navigation.

Your navigation images defiantly need some work (as said). If I remember right, I liked the first version better.

Good luck!

i advise that you only use frames if you have a large menu that is updated very often, but in your case i suggest that you use tables as you only have a few options and they dont seem to be updated that often!! i suggest you use a different font to make the writing clearer and the combination of writing and graphics makes the site look unprofessional!! i suggest you try again (no offense) if you want to acheive the best possible look to your site!!
