My third creation - Or is it my 16th?
Hiya!
I kinda finished (there are still a few things that need to be done) what is supposed to be my 3rd web site creation (although if I count all the sites I made but never went online, this is like the 16th ) and I'm looking again for your rude criticism
The site is for a newsletter I'll be starting in a couple of days, the url is web-reviews.com (I like that domain a lot, I can't belive nobody already took it).
My special concern is the loading time. The main page is around 55k, so I would appreciate if you could tell me how long does it take your browser to load the page, and how does that time compare to the usual thing.
Thanks!
Federico

When I signed up for your newsletter I was surprised when I found no link back. Although you can click on the logo to go back, it would probably be better to make a visible link back for the newer users of the internet

And why would you want to go back after you subscribe?
BTW... there will be a set of links (to archives, home, and all that stuff) at the right bar.

I'm sorry I looked it over pretty quick I realized this once I posted. What if you could offer some other links to sites that you like or sites that you are affiliated with after they sign up.

OK< well it looks very nice but my main thougth is that the globe bg should be fixed so it stays in view all the time.
Top domain name BTW

They only thing I can really recommend is using Meta Tags. It sometimes is a pin in thr butt to create but putting meta tags on every page on your site really helps if your into getitng alot of hits (and who isn't!?)

JP: I will do that. Only IE supports fixed BG's though (at least NS 4.06 doesn't support them)
Rob: Thanks, I already know it. Altough I'm not going to waste much time on search engines, I will make the meta tags and submit to the major ones.
What about the loading time???
The entire site is using PHP headers/footers (that way they can be modified based on what file is being loaded), so changing the meta tags on the entire site will take a few secs.
Isn't Apache really cool? If you go to http://www.web-reviews.com/contact/, you think it's a directory, but it actually is just a PHP script
Thanks for your suggestions... keep them coming!
