Hi there,

it is original but...
- too heavy - meaning: can be difficult to understand and used by users
- for average resolution is just too lengthily
- menu is definitely too low
- some blank spaces beside your logo
- too much space from the top.

I suggest you to work around your layout. You are on the right track but not there yet.Smiling

Are your links on your menu supposed to go to totally different sites? I think you wrote the code wrong for your links...??? You might want to check out some basic tutorials for html! There are some really great ones out there!

Have a great night,

The style is nice and original. One thing I found annoying was the fact that I had to scroll down the page to see anything other then the title. I viewed it at 800x600 and at that resolution I would hope to be able to view a bit more then the title and the very top of your menu. Nice graphics, neat and fast loading.
Just one more thing, those anglefire popups are a nuisance

Definitely get your front page down so it fits into one screen with no scrolling at 800x600. It's basically a splash page with a menu, so scrolling is annoying and unnecessary.

It's an interesting interface, you just need to tighten it up a bit.

Good luck with it.

At first I thought it was a splash page, the realised the content was underneath, so thought it was a layer problem but sees its the way you set it out.
The top part should be behind the bottom bit or gone all together. the text section in IE is dark green but IN netscape 4.7 its dark grey which is really weird as i download the image and looks dark green. (netscapes version looks better)
The word "menu" is a little cut off, maybe a different color to make it stand out.
The links words are also different sizes, pick your longest word you'll use and make them all that size, or one size bigger than your longest word. (you can get away with one or two longer words at 1 size smaller depending on font)
I am a car nut, so am interested to see your site when finished.

I'm sorry but I really don't like it.

Having to scroll down to reach a menu is a definate turn off. The menu bar should be much further up...
Its an interesting design just way too gloomy. Very heavy on grey and no other color at all...

Adding a logo would also go a long way...

Sorry to be cruel but life is full of personal opinions!! Smiling

I have to agree with the general consensus here I'm afraid. With this kind of interface layout it all really needs to fit on the screen at 800*600. It's harder to critique as there is no content but it is very dark as well, although the green on the links does brighten things up, when you get to it.

How about moving it up & having the menu & main part flipped up into the part currently above it and have the 'Cars from Mars' going off more from the top to the right and get some colour into that logo.

I use Netscape4 in resolution 800x600.

You don't have a html title.
The text images have very low resolution, the text don't look good.

The design is very good I think, though try to make it a bit lighter and add a color to some of the design elements. It looks a bit dull otherwise.

Well I just went back for another look and its improving Smiling
The menu bar is much better further up but the text on the bar looks real fuxxy...

Once you add bit more color and a few images (although I can't talk, the only images on my site are banners at the mo!!) I think it will improve dramatically...

You need to add some color and the sharpen the text. Maybe add some banners to fill in the empty spaces. This will also add some color to your site.

All the best,
Gavin

Its looking better
the text section should be text thou, as a graphic ita a little blury.

The design, to me looks like it crying out for some yellow, maybe its just me.

dont forget to change your title, at the moment it says "cars_main.gif"

Much better now you don't have to scroll down to see it!

It definitely needs some colour though in my opinion, I see teal or something similar. The links could either be rollovers, or have the background boxes for the links coloured. The top of the box that says .:CARS:. looks like the very top of it's been chopped off. Have text as text not as graphics though.

How are you going to expand for more content?

I agree with Busy - that text is giving me a headache written like that and the addition of some yellow would look good. Or red as 1st said. A photo of a car somewhere would be a nice addition as well.

Oh, and I don't know if this has been mentioned already but it would be a good idea to find a better web host...
