I am making a portfolio site for me. I am a php programmer and I want a place to 'show-off'. If you guys could look at the design, not the content cause right now I don't have much there. Also if anyone speaks fluent spanish could you check my translations on the spanish/espanol page?

Also, I cannot load multiple browsers on my laptop for some wacky reason, so could you guys check in differant browsers if you could?

Thanks in advance!

There isn't much there at the moment, the content will make or break the design.
But what is there:
For me, that orange/brown colour doesn't go with anything but my moniter displays on the darker side.
The black links could get confusing, you also use black header text so no one knows a link from a title until they wave their mouse over it.
You say it's your personal page but you also say portfolio, the words "access denied" in your banner could be off putting, doesn't really give that element of trust if you know what I mean.

Appears the same in IE6 and mozilla firebird, except IE doesn't have 0 bottom margin (space after the end of it)

I like the design! I can't say anything else before you get some content.

I agrree... I think after putting some more content we would get a better feel of how site will look overall lots of empty space makes it harder to give ideas.

Tiny fonts! Tiny fonts!!! All of your fonts are too small. On the splash page, it was fairly difficult to find out how to get in. Make those words bigger and move them away from the graphic a bit so people can see them.

Main design looks nice. Again, fonts small. Navbar boring. Header graphic really good. Highly original, as is the colour scheme. Your name there shouldn't have such a big drop shadow though, it makes it hard to read it. Layout is otherwise rather dull.

This site has potential ....

1. I like the header graphic at the top ... nice color palette ... very pleasing ... I would lighten up on the drop shadow under SHAWN KURTZ ... looks a little dark and muddy.

2. Personally, I would like to see a little more leading or line-height in the body text. The font size is fine with me ... but Verdana 8pt may not be readable on some monitors. (Also I'd put the font size in pixels, not points)

3. I'd like to see this site done without tables and in XHTML ... that's the future. (Needs a doctype for starters.)

4. Nice corner effect in the text area.

5. Add metatags

6. Put your styles in an external stylesheet. (and javascript if you use it)

7. Of course you'll want to make sure it validates.... go here http://validator.w3.org/

I like the general feeling when I saw the page. Without content it makes it a little hard to really review. I do have to agree with what someone said above. The tiny fonts are hard on the eyes. I have a 21 inch monitor, but I wear glasses because I am older. Hard to read, but it is readable.

Your Shawn Kurtz banner is to dark at the bottom so it is hard to read. You might need to lighten up the drop shadow a bit.

The colors worked for me and it felt nice.

Have a good one

If you would like to show off your PHP skills then add some PHP. Add things in there which can only be done with PHP. For all I know, the file could be only another file with a .php extension but PHP backend to it.

I like the colours used in the design but not how it is used in the header strip. Remember that every element on the page must have a reason and meaning behind it. For example, what is the reason behind the tick box? What does it represent? Why? What is that blurry thing next to your logo? What is its' intended effect? I think the red in that thing is a bit over-powering. Try toning it down a little.

Nice site, nice design. Text is a bit small though.
