The concept is simple

Find the secret word on today’s winning website to enter

If you win: tomorrow everyone will have to visit your site to enter.

Have a go – enter your website it's FREE

As always any feedback greatly appreciated

I only thought of the idea on Monday 28th August btw.

This is an amazing idea. Well thought off!

I have entered the lotto ( I found the word) and have entered my site into the next lotto.

This is a great way for getting people to visit sites.

Big pat on the back for this.

(Pity there isn't a smiley for that action!)

That's a pretty cool little idea.

I also entered.

Good luck with the idea, atleast it's original (to my knowledge anyway)

That alone is unusual on the web these days

I didn't enter (I'm a grumpy youngish fart), anyways on to the design ...

The layout doesn't fit 800x600 very well, the navigation is on two lines and the input boxs overlap the content on the right.

Good on you for using XHTML but remember ALL tags must be lower case (you have as caps)

Originally I thought the layout might of been designed for IE because of the overlapping etc (I use firefox) but checking on IE6 the layout does not work on IE, the left column starts under the bottom of the right columns length.

I think you need a better logo, while the green/black looks like a bank (could work in your favor) I think a simple splash of colour or icon or something to give it that edge. People related balls to lotto, so maybe 4 balls behind or beside the name.
Loose the 'bookmark, ctrl d' thing, very unprofessional and scream newbie, also the extreme tracker

Don't use all capitals in sentences, and you have a couple of typos - avbailiable (on the contact page)

good luck

Great idea. I think the rules need to be stated more clearly, I thought at first I was to find the phrase on your page. Best of luck!

Oh, I also entered, and hope I win!

It works on my machine.

Thanks for the encouragement and support for my idea I just need to keep the ball rolling and build up the numbers. Any ideas or help in doing that would be great, I'm going to try and change the "our network" section with exchange backlinks, I'm thinking webmaster type websites might be interested as its a bit of fun for their visitors.

Acadia, can you give me some ideas how to explain it more clearly, I have tried even to the extent of having an example page. But sometimes the way I word things, makes it more complicated

I will see what i can come up with, and I agree with the 5 year old comment made above.

It works on my machine.

The best way to explain things is really simple, as in you are explaining to a 5 yr old

The idea is spot on to keep a chain of referrals going to different websites, and assuming users like the site, it could generate new permanent visitors for participants. On the other hand, with a Find function handy, it sort of defeats the object of reading through the content to get the answer, and you may not get a feel for the site content going that route. But that is too cynical, i guess, and most people will read through religiously.

The page looks like a version of a Rapidweaver template, but fair play, it is all hand written? The coding of the nav bar and one of the form entries is a little bit awry on Safari, not that most of the people reading this will care too much, and I am sure it is just a question of a little tweak to make it comply.

I hope you have a lot of luck with it, maybe you can develop the idea and list the winning sites. Then get those sites actually reviewed to give them even more exposure?

Thanks for the kind word pisstaker,
I do list the sites on the "past winners" page and I would like to give them some anchor text also especially when I get a pagerank.
but one thing at a time, I'm just trying to build up the numbers atm.

people have pointed out you can Ctrl +F and search for the secret word which is true, I think thats okay because if the site is of interest people will obviously read it etc. often its getting people to go to the site thats the hard part.
