My latest advertising site with a twist of course! ;)
Hey people,
Can you review my latest site: mmmzr.com
I'm particularly interested in:
1) First impressions.
2) How easy it is to understand the concept.
3) Site layout/ style / usability and all the rest. (it's only a very small site)
The site/design is not finished yet but before I get too bogged down in the details I thought I'd ask for some feedback first.
Thanks a lot!

The site looks good but I'm not sure what the point is. Why would anyone want to visit this site? if you bought advertising, who would be visiting the site and seeing your ad? The ads are also quite small, it would be hard to really communicate anything with such a small graphic. As a potential advertiser I would be seriously skeptical about getting any quality traffic from an ad like this.
I do understand how it works, and I think the design looks nice. The colour scheme is good and I like the striped graphic/logo.

Hi people, thanks for taking a look at the site.
@carle: yeah the copyright is a little small, I'll fix that.
@megan: the appeal of the site is the idea and the novelty. It's the same reason that I would visit Alex Tew's milliondollarhomepage regularly just to see how well he was doing and whether his idea was taking off or not.
It's a bit of a chicken and egg thing, but the act of buying an ad on the site directly increases the site's worth and potential. Along with the very low current prices and likelyhood of getting that money + some back, I think it's a win win situation! Why don't you give it a whirl!
As for the size of the ads, with a bit of ingenuity I think they are more than large enough to get the right kind of visitors to your site. In fact for me the size restriction encourages the advertiser to put a bit more effort into their ads and thus better results than normal. It introduces an element of healthy curiosity which is a good positive attitude for your potential customers to have!
Just looking at the ads that have just been bought, some are completely cryptic, others spell it out, some are logo/brands and one is an easy to understand icon... take it as a challenge, the more time you put into your ad button the more you will get out of it!
Ok, that's my book over,
Thanks a lot for taking the time out to comment, any other comments/suggestions greatly appreciated!

i think it's an interesting idea, and the design looks nice.
i do think that drawing people to your site might be a problem. and it might be hard for people to remember how many M's are in the url.

I like the first version first.
The top links are very hard to see/find, maybe use bold, or even get rid of the black strip and put the navigation bottom right of the red/brown
While the concept is different and takes a little to get your head around it does leave you wondering:
is there a maximum amount of ads being displayed ie 20 (which would upset page layout), the terms pages says for at least one year, so if you had 10,000 in one column the 50x50 image would still be one of them?
is to early in the morning to be doing the math but 10,000 would be millions off hand so the site would become stall or do you intend to introduce more letters or start from $1 again?

It's an interesting concept and might take off with promotion. How are you getting people to the site in the first place?

i like the design of the first version better. but the box version does seem to draw your attention to the adverts more.

The idea is quite new and I like it a lot.
I didn't understand it at first but I went to the "How It Works" section and it clicked.
I think i may just go and buy a button now.

Ok, first impression to me was load time and I loaded it from a high speed connection. It was definitely slower than what I feel is an adequate load time. If there are customers with a slower connection chances are they may not wait therefore losing there business. As an advertiser, I would not be interested unless your traffic was extremely high!
Thank you,
Jason

this is a great concept. Again it's a concept. The only way I can really seing you take this off is to make a column of advertising available to other websites (like googles adsense).
You can actually categorize the ad type and have one ad for four gaming sites that would be displayed on other gaming sites as an example. then you would have to pay the host site by impressions (1000 impressions is google).
Good luck. Nice design

The boxed in version is very clear, and the first one is very attractive in itself. So I would go for the boxed one to appeal to business minds rather than the classier looking one that will appeal to aesthetic minds.
I dont think there is any advantage to giving people their dollars back - too little. And also it means the person to take the initiative earns $1 with the next advertiser. hardly an incentive to be the pioneer, especially as people who jump on the band wagon will get more back than you! Maybe set up a fund and the monies you were going to give back could go to a good cause of some sort instead. I am sure you could rig up a counter and aim for a million of your own.
Like someone else said, it is a concept, and there must be a way to leverage the idea to attract advertisers.
Try and manipulate those columns so they can be integrated into a site with content that will actually attract visitors.
I know there is going to be a lot of thought put into adverts. Adsense works for a lot of people where it is sort of accepted that ads can look ugly, but oh well. Other more pretty or cleaner sites need a solution that leaves their layout looking pretty and clean, but still entices users to click through to something.
Good luck, it will work. The ad sizes are great, just look at the dimensions of the ad on daringfireball and that network. Small and to the point, or small and whacky, but they always make an impact.

LOL it's a great website ... but how do you win money since all the money earned go to the user below ? ( or only 50% of the money go to the user ?
