Perhaps if you helped other people with their sites they would return the favour?

you may be right, but if you search for my name, you'd find out that i help others more than they help me, but i will do my best to do more...
Thanks for the advice

Thanks for commenting on some other sites. It's a good idea to keep up reviewing if you request actively as that's most beneficial for the whole community. Smiling

I don't like the header in the default theme much. The boxes within the boxes don't flow well. The pixel font at large sizes isn't too good either. And the shadows for the bars doesn't go with the general look. It's just not very cohesive. But I think the biggest problem is when I switch themes to blue, there's nothing familiar in the new header... no logo, no branding. Wink

That said, I like the navigation links. Smooth and straightforward. But what about all that white space in the nav box? It looks very desolate. You might be able to reduce that effect by removing the border around the nav column altogether. Smiling

Your text seems to lack structure -- that is, it isn't fit for web-reading (skimming). There are no heading, lists or other cues for the eye... and I'm definitely not going to read all of that text to get your message.

If anything else, I'd say the colours are too plain, but you're going with a theme-switcher, so I won't say anything more about it. Smiling

Overall, it's not a bad piece at all. Nice work.

On the whole, I've found that the more one sets the site up, the better. If someone posts a title like "just another template site..." it seems like that person is not taking the site seriously, and that people would be perhaps wasting their time to critique it for ways it could be improved.

So, as a demo, what are you hoping to achieve? What areas in particular are you testing? What are you willing to change? What part is the demo?

What are you hoping to achieve through getting a critique?

If you can answer those questions, it may help people give you the feedback you're looking for.

What site are we talking about? There are a couple of links in your sig but which one requires the review?

New templates added to your site's style, or new templates added as content on the site? If it's the former, then I don't see how to access them -- still only two themes in the style chooser. If it's the latter, then we're probably not interested as that's only indirectly related to the topic of reveiwing the site's construction. Smiling

I can still only access the default and blue styles... if that's what you're referring to.

I see you've simplified the header in the default theme, and it's better now. Smiling Still lacking a logo or some kind of consistent symbol, though.

The ads occupy some space, so the nav area isn't so empty anymore. But I'd still experiment with removing the border for that column, just to make the design more interesting. Smiling

I didn't spot anything else different.

On URL

I found a mistake on a link. At the bottom of the page, where it says Click Here to contact us, the hyperlink is file:///C|/sites/contact/advices.php

Just an observation.

thanks a lot for taking the time to notice me about the error. I've just changed it, but the contact page is also not finished yet, but will soon be.

Nice website Smiling I like the layout and very easy to navigate. However, the load time was very slow and I have a very fast PC.

Well, that's looking much better! Smiling

Typo in the About Us page:

Quote: TemplateArchives.com is not yet a business company, but a registered personal website with a registered name under the Netherlands Domain registration laws and is a copyright protected domain name.

The colours and nav are looking pretty good. I still have a gripe with the content... too plain and looks unstructured. My eyes refuse to read all your text at this time of the day, so maybe if it was structured with heading and important text highlighted, I might dare strain my eyes to grab some info. Wink

Otherwise, it's a nice improvement. Smiling

Well, with such advice, things could be improved quickly. Thanks, made some changes already.

Text is much better. Smiling I wouldn't center the headings... try working on it left-aligned if you can.

I'm beginning to get distracted by the animated image on the left. What you might be able to do is make that a static image, but link it to another section of your site which has both animated and static versions for the users to choose from. Smiling

It's really taking shape now. Good work. Wink
