For ease of use, I would make the background behind the text white, and have the red elsewhere. Maybe a border around the 'content section' of the site wouldn't go amis; it would break up the site and give it form.
First of all I like the pictures you have on the site!
Next, I would like to suggest you use a thumbnail script to organize the pictures better. This could make your site look much more organized. In addition, the background color is a bit bright. White may be a better choice.

I will have to agree with others, the RED would have to go. It is a terrible eye strain to someone with glasses (me). If the yellow was not soft it would compound the problem.
Other than that everything seems to function well you have a few spelling punctuation errors, but who doesn't. There are several syntax errors on your page, it does not validate as 4.01 trans. They small I would run it through W3C and fix these. I only checked the first page so I don`t know about the rest.
just been on your site again to see if you had changed any thing and i see nothing has changed, whta file format are the front two pictures saved in because they take a few seconds to come up and i have a 1mb line, so i feel sorry for any one on dial up
.5 & .7 Meg Jpeg. for the two front page pictures. These need to be compressed badly. I can put a photo on a website three times that size @ less than .1 m, and still have good quality. I am on 3m DSL, and it takes around two sec. to load them. Monirors are limited to 72 DPI there is no use to have Jpeg's that size.
I agree that the red needs to be toned down, and it did take a while for the pictures to load also. Also everything stays aligned to the left when the browser window is maximized, I would centre it. The page has a very flat look; to change that I would add a gradient to the background, and maybe add some rollovers to your links. I think a 1 pixel border around your images may look nice, also.
You do have some adorable pooches though!!

Well, if there's on piece of advice I can give, it's drop the red.
Other than that, I suppose the site suffices.

like others have said, the red is just too much...the black text is very hard to read on it.
other than that, the page looks ok to me.
I might also suggestion you submit your site to this Pet directory
it's fee and a nice relivant backlink
