These are for those that ask for free web host...
I tried bravenets hosting and its quite good,
Now I was talking with steve40 about my own sickness in flower photography,
I decided to start one and i copied the idea of a design from them that they offer for free, I modified the code coz it wont validate as raw, edited the graphics, and whoala!!! my new photo site...
Give this one some whackin critiques...
Critiqueing helped my previous site and this new one a lot... Hope new members can learn from these...

The layout looks pretty typical for a ready made photo album, with the collage and all. I used to use Bravenet quite a lot, until they got so heavy on adds. The albums are pretty neat, as they allow public uploads if you set them for that.
I noticed they have added an original size feature, when I used BN they didn't have that. Out of the flower pix I like the BIG red un. By the way when you go on a flower quest, get you a little spray bottle with water of course. Spray the flower with it, this simulates dew. Almost all outdoor photographers stoop to this subterfuge. Works on toadstools, and spider webs too. Gives them that string of pearls look. I used to have a few webs, but I lost a bundle of photos on a hard drive crash. So now there are two drives in my machine, one just for pictures.
Which I need to take some time away from this one eyed monster, and take a few.
When you decide to move from Bravenet let me know. It's hard to find a free host that will tolerate photo albums, but I have a list that will. Such as the one I am with now.

I was just trying out bravenet at first, then I decided to put up a photo repository of some sort, I learned the hard way too so I always have a spare hardrive seperate for my photos, music/movies, and apps. I found their collage pretty handy but they get this pesky banners and popups so i decided hacking that away of somesort the only thing i couldnt edit is the photo album... Now the modified template employs lighter pics (optimized) and some gifs, the original didnt align with the background. Cool suggestion with the spray thingy, I was thinking of that too, ok so other than 50webs, what host do you suggest???

I'll have to hunt it up. Right off I can't really remember the name of some of the others. But I do have a list of probably 8 or 10. Some of them have no adds, some do.
100free is a good host as far as putting up with considerable bandwith use!. Problem they go off, and on like a yoyo up a string. They have gotten a little better since I used them though.
The big thing about 50webs is their hits requirement, and nowhere can I find what it is. The same is true of the forum I am using on the photo site. No use in 25 days you are history. So all the way around I am a little pressed by this present arrangement.
You need to read the little message I left on the other room, the one about how to promote your site?.

Your tag line "What???
This site provides you with enjoyment through flowers..." was confusing to me. You might want to be more specific like your welcome description. I don't know what that black and white photo is doing in the background -- disturbing me. Holy cow, these flower pictures sure are refreshing.

Nice design I've got to say. The appearance that the photographs and content are scattered over one another gets full points. The flower pictures are indeed nice. I think the site could go deeper. I mean, you could add more pages to the site.

To be honest, when I first got to your site I ignored the animated graphic on the left and started looking for where to click. Hmmm...
The bottom of the page has stuff that looks like site navigation:
Graphic Design Personals Music Downloads Logo Design Online Dating
but it's not. Hmmm...
Turns out the animated graphic is not, as usual, an ad, but the only place which looks like it might take me to another page. Everything seems 'collaged' together, yet immediately below this I see the plain and simple buttons for CSS, XHTML and HTML validation. Maybe the navigation could be a bit clearer.
This page really boils down to:
Please look at my
flower gallery.
All the extra stuff on the page should make it more likely that someone will go to that gallery, not less.

It's a nice design, and using something somebody else has done is a good starting point. I'm not very inventive so usually use other peoples ideas (without plagiarising) and use them as a baseline to generate designs. Pick something you like and put your own spin on it, chances are it'll look nothing like the original when you've finished
I tried to look at the gallery but was attacked by advertising so had to leave, there was also some audio - very embarrassing when you're sat in a crowded office!

I dont understand why people dont understand "Click Here"...
Now the photo album feature of my host really sucks, too many popups and Ads, but I cant do some ad hacking there, The banner on the bottom of the front page which was mistaken as site navigation is actually the banner thats located at the very top, I hacked the code to move it at the bottom...
Ill be making my own photo album soon, I started making some designs so i could generate codes for it in a single click (More like my own photo album generator)... As for the front, I usually change designs every 3 weeks, so expect it to change very soon, thanks for the feedback...

I don't really know what the issue with "click here" is. But I do know every where you go concerning web design tells you not to use it.

I get what you mean, spam and pop-ups always use this, thats why I'm currently making a new revision and my new photo album generator...
