Shouldn't you place the links on the left ON the buttons? Also, your main page seems too long. You should remove some of that sitering stuff, ony place them on your main page. Also, make the guestbook buttons in a sepparate page. An other thing you could do is place the ad buttons side-to-side instead of under eachother. And remove the linebreaks under the butttons on the left.

Welcome aboard bksand,
I have just had a quick look and I know this is your first site but there is a lot of work to do. First of all I don't like the background and the site is far too cluttered looking. Is your only intention with the site to make money??
We do ask that before your own site is critiqued that you participate in other discussions in the forums and comment on other sites posted. This will also help you as you get to see other sites & designs and will probably pick up some tips that'll be relevant to your own site.

Thank you for Welcoming me!
I wanted you to know that making money from my site is not the only thing I am interested in, although it is a portion of my intentions. My other intentions are learning as much as I can about designing and maintaining a GREAT Website!
Regarding your next suggestion, I am going to view some of the other members site right now and give my comments as best as I can. Your right, by doing this will help me get an idea of changes I can make and help someone else out at the same time.
Thanks again for your time!

I hope you will stick around, you will gain an awful lot of knowledge by looking at other's sites and reading what suggestions others make as well. You will find that we are a friendly bunch and will be only too happy to help out.

Hmmmmm.... needs work. The coins background faded out like that looks very grey and boring, while the red and green text look like christmas. Or did you do that on purpose - you know - christmas, getting something for free etc.?
Next, you've got a whole ton of useless junk on there - guestbook, webrings, cheesy counter, three yahoo thingy's in the top corner, a couple of banner ads.
On the rest of the pages you've got brown text against that grey backgorund and it's rather hard to read. I'm also seeing varying font sizes on some of them. The flashing "new" graphics and star graphics must go. I'd also like to know who is eligible for these money making deals - a lot of them are Americans only so it would be nice to let the rest of us know if we can sign up.
Overall, you really need to look around at what other sites are doing. Look closely at good looking sites and think about what they are and are not doing. YOu won't see many patterned backgrounds anymore, all good sites will have a good defined colour scheme, you'll rarely see guestbooks, or counters, or webrings, or poorly placed ad banners etc.

Thanks Megan Jack for that excellent review. I don't think you missed a thing. Just to let you know, I've started a list of the suggested changes and am probably going to do a complete makeover. I'm not whining. I actually had been thinking of some items you mentioned already. This will get me doing instead of just thinking. Thanks! I'll be requesting a follow up from you soon! (Just pre-warning you, ha!)

The first thing I would do is re-structure it. Why not get a catchier domain name? It might stick on peoples minds a bit more.
I agree that there is a lot of clutter on it, perhaps it would be worth trimming that down? DEFINATELY cut the home page down!
I'd get rid of or cut down on red text too, theres a subconscious marketing thing that says too much red says danger whereas blue is much more calming and reassuring. Thats what I've gone for on my site anyway!
I don't think theres anything fundamentally wrong with it, just needs some trimming and re-shaping. In my opinion anyway.

Thanks for your comments AltaHit.com. I have taken everyones comments in to consideration and am currently "re-constructing". It's going to take me a little while to get all the changes done, enough that I can actually upload them and look right. I welcome all opinions and take note to try to better my site. I will definetly post the new and updated site as soon as I can! Thanks again!
