I would appreciate a review
Please check out http://www.explorer4x4.com and it's message board at http://www.explorerforum.com
The website has gone relatively unchanged in layout for about 2 years now. Any fresh ideas would be appreciated.
TIA

It looks pretty sweet actually. I like the "Serious Explorations" part. Well there are a few problems I can see.
- You have too many button thing along the right side of the page. Not to like different sections of the site...below that. The advertisements.
- Your main page seems to be very big. Try to take some stuff off (not sure what).
- As soon as I get into the site it doesnt' catch me to be one about cars. Change your colors to something maybe darker.
- Make mouseover's on your buttons. Just make sure they won't make the site forever to load.
- You're background is pretty ugly. Change it to maybe like a flat color or something like that.
Hope I helped!

Ok. The menu on the left isn't bad color and font wise, but the text is too cramped. Maybe make all of them a font smaller or make the buttons bigger. They all bleed together.
Thats one long page! Maybe condense it and shorten it putting more on subpages. Most viewers won't read to the bottom.

First, let me say that a nice Jeep Cherokee is way better than an Explorer
Your forum software is attempting to set it's cookies too late, as evidenced by these errors at the top of this page:
The logo on that page is a cool picture, but it should be editted to better fit in with the rest of the page.
You need to streamline your main page. It just doesn't feel professional. Try changing the background, and consider redoing the buttons with a nicer font. Mouseovers couldn't hurt them either.
Kill the ugly table borders in your book store.
Gotta say that I enjoyed the 'Whoops' section alot =)

Thanks for the comments. I believe I will implement a few of the suggestions.
Except the one about the Cherokee
Thanks again.

I don't like it at all...
1) The logo. It's blurry and the drop-shadow is too far away for my taste. Also, I don't think it's big enough, compared to everything else on the page. Second, is the site called "Serious Explorations" or Explorer 4X4? You need to put the real name of the site in the logo. Finally, I would make the background transparent so the bg image shows through.
2) The menu. Again, the images are blurry. Also, this just hit me. There is all this space in between the buttons and the logo. Why's that? You need to make on or the other bigger to fill in the space.
3) The main page... is way too long! Nobody would ever read that much text. They may skim through and look at the pictures, but the rest is just wasting space. Also, all your tables have different colors and border, etc.. Make them all the same looking.
4) There are too many misc. ads and stuff all over the page. I'd get rid of all the buttons going down the left side menu, as well as the banner exchange images unless they're giving you some mad traffic.
