I don't know about the white space, but the rest looks good enough.

On my machine (IE5, 1024/768), the orange menu bar at the top hung way over the side of the content tables.

I don't know too much about DHTML, but it looks as if you have 8 menu items, each with a width of 150. That doesn't answer the question though, because that equals 1,200, and it isn't twice as big as the 600px wide table. You got me stumped .

Sorry

I think the logo on the main page is nicer than the new logo.

Matt- Although i do value your personal opinion, it would find it more constructive if you could help me by giving your opinion on the question asked. If you think the design on the main page is better, tell me why and im sure i could take your feelings into account.

Thanks so far, and more critique?

Jimbo -- the width (150 pixels) appears to represent the drop down part of the menu.

OKOK.com --
On 800 x 600, I think it was determined in previous posts that was the majority of users' screen resolution, it looks fine in both Netscape and IE. I did notice the mouseover effect along the top of the page (links for ineffable and doubleok) does not work in Netscape.

i set the width of the menu to 590, and the width of each of the options to 0 which means they are just wide enought to fit their entries. I have reduced the amount of entries, in case that problem was caused by different setting of text size in your bowser. Jimbo can you look again?

The two ttf fonts used on the logo were Ventilate AOE for the top part, and Felt Marker for the bottom part.

Hmm, well so far this topic thread has had like 1-2 critiques, and there are 16 posts...

1) Logo looks good, but there is some white space next to the "Webmasters Only" text that needs to be filled in. Either with what you offer or something...

2) There is too much white space above and below the text for each part. I've been seeing this with all your designs. The less white space the better, but it's good to have some. Keep that in mind.

3) Put something in between each menu title to seperate them. Either use '|' or '<>' or something.

4) I don't like the light black color on the top bar. Make it 100% black, or a different color. Also align the text over top of the table, and maybe change the 'DoubleOK.com' to a very small version of your logo.

I think it's the best yet...

Disagree!! White space can be a very useful design element. I agree with Double OK's statement on the first page - white space makes things look less cluttered. I think there might be a little too much around the text in this case - it will be easier to tell when you've got all your text on there. It might be better to reduce it a little more to make the page shorter (less scrolling).

I don't really like the logo. Those white lines are too thick and too close together. It makes the text hard to read. The "webmasters only" might work better if it was in a scripted font overlapping the "Double OK.com" part. Oh, and "webmasters only" should be the same shade of orange as the borders and headers.

I agree with Justin about the grey bar across the top - you might want to get rid of this altogether. The dHTML menu is doing weird things for me sometimes (IE5) - you might want to try a different script.

I like the orange and blue colour scheme. I also like the simple yet effective layout. It will be interesting to see how it looks once you've got all the content in and the sub-pages done.

My 2 cents:

I think the navigation is great - I had a ton of problems with Netscape compatibility, and had to abandon my DHTML scripts, but yours certainly seems to be working fine (sorta ). And yes, I'm also getting that strange sort of bug where the navbar starts -way- off to the left side (IE5, btw).

As far as the white space goes, I wouldn't go as far to say that the less you have the better, but you have too much right now as it is, regardless of cluttering issues.

Other than that, I like your current logo much better than the one on the template page...

Overall, nice lookin color scheme. It's a shame about that weird navbar bug - I really hope you can get a fix for it...

Approximate 'release' date? I'm looking forward to it

The nav works fine for me on NN 4.7, but it obviously won't work for everyone. But I do like the nav.

The white space - hard to tell without actual content. I think that it'll be okay around the text, but not around the banner. But still, you might want to cut down a bit.

At first, I just dismissed the logo as a ad until I got a better look. It's about the same size and shape.

Other than that, clean and simple. I like it.
