Hello,

After months of hard work, I've finally finished my site. I would like any opinions, suggestions, complaints, anything. It's called [red]Digital-Fx[/red]. I had my site located from one server to another, so here are 2 links from my old design to my new design.

Old design: http://members.rotfl.com/digitalfx

New design: http://members1.visualcities.com/digital-fx/

Thank you, Sabrina a.k.a. SG Pugi

P.S. Also, please mention what browser you're using and at what resolution your monitor is set at, so I get a better picture of any errors that can happen.

Well, I like the splash page and the layout of the main page. The load time was not too good for the main page and it seems that your leaving almos thalf the screen blank atleast on my resolution which may not be the best idea.

The coin is rather out of place and 'Paint Shop Pro' in your poll line feeds. Also, I'd keep the counter off or hidden till it gets higher Wink

Other then that, I like the look. You might want to try and fit a bit more content or an intro page that is noticable right away but I like it....

Okay, I'll be changing the spalsh page abit... and I'll be optimizing most or all of the images at my site. This will take a day or two for all I know. So at the moment please don't mention about how long it takes for the pages to load, I know it'll take forever...

I'll see what else can be done to quicken the load. If anyone can offer some tips or to help out on how to quicken it, they'll be gladly accepted.

Thank you, Sabrina

[red]Splash Page[/red]:
- I like the background
- Suggestion: Put the upc code on the splash page into a table with height=90%, then make the division aligned in the center.
- Is this page necessary?

[red]Main page[/red]:
- Took a very long time to load.
- What's the penny and coins on the other pages for? Just to move around the page? ;>
- Good first impression.
- Suggestion: Please change the "Your daily digital newspaper" to something besides blue, I thought it was a link a couple things.
- You might want to make it so the columns aren't divided so they both start off a new section at the same place, and you can get rid of some empty space doing this.
- Your page has a nice feel to it, but it looks very empty.

In regards to your poll, I use Neopaint, and MS Paint (sometimes). I'm slowly converting to PSP. Wink

I like the site, but: (i use a 640x480 res. w/ ie5)

1) on the splash page I can't see the bottom of the image (i have to scroll to see it)

on the main page:

2) i would change the color of your daily digital newsletter.

3) on the images, the corners don't look right for some reason.

4) on the very bottom of the page on the left corner the image doesn't show up.

5) server is too slow, page is also.

6) whats the coin for? no use in my opinion.

7) on the digitized site award page the check marks' background is black.

Cool people might get confused with all this stuff that is moveable Smiling

Hi Sabrina.
It's much better than your old site.
1. When linking to other sites I would suggest opening another window so you don't lose your hard earned visitors.
2. The splash page is a great example of 'less is more' and works well with the scrap of paper on the main page, examples from the real world. I think you've conveyed a good restrained artistic style.
3. I won't mention that the main page took a while to load Wink [isdn]
4. The tip of the day made no sense to me, and I would really want a visual as you are talikng about a visual product.

Cheers
Stephen

Thank you Stephen for your comments. Very helpful and uplifting! You are the first person to mention how the design relates to rthe real world. Thanks a lot. I will be optimizing all or most of my grpahics, I will change around the splash page. I myself think it does seem rather plain.

Thank you all for your comments. they all add to the finalized site of DFX.

I know - I have a 56k modem and it takes really long to lead. Anyway, I would move to VirtualAve or find a free host at http://www.freewebspace.net. If your site becomes popular, I would consider paying a host.
