http://www.cyclart.com/ REDO?
This is my cousin's site. I have some definite ideas about how it could be redone but I bet the good minds here have some thoughts I didn't have.
We are in the process of designing a new site but it seemed to me that a critique before hand might be more useful than a critique after.
It's a pretty complex site in terms of what they do, restoration, painting and parts.

A few comments:
- I like the main logo and the menu bar on the left, but at the moment they're on their own as far as a general theme goes; if they could be incorporated into the overall look of the site it might be good.
- First page is way too long; I think a first page should never have to include scroll bars; to the point so interested people come in and time wasters go away.
- In Opera the bottom half of the front page is blocks and nothing more. Is anything there?

The blocks seem to be mistakes in coloring of cells. I don't know why they are there. But your thoughts mirror mine. Too much stuff on the front page.
I also think a picture is worth a thousand words especially in this business.

well it looks good but I would think if you you are selling art it should be a little more artisitic and the page just keeps going down. good luck

hmmm...I like the logo. The rest of the site is really dull, especially the color scheme. Try using the colors you have on your logo and design the site around them (not ALL of them of course).
++The menu image is an interesting idea, but I just don't think it works that well - the red arrow doesn't line up either.
++I think what you need is more organization. Things are a little too scattered around.
++ Check your code, too much blank space at the bottom of your pages. On some pages, your banner is 0px from the top edge, on others more.
I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone else who seems to be a beginner at web design: Read a couple books/sites about web development and spend some time surfing the web looking for ideas and templates you like that may come in handy.
