I recently created a site redesign for a little side project of mine, tell me what you think. As for now, this site is for IE viewers only (I have the Netscape compatible version available but am worried about content before that). So as for now, this site will only work with Internet Explorer. It makes use of the <iframe> tag, making it faster reloading, etc.

My only concenn is that of dullness. I tried to make this design sharp and unique, but I think in doing so I took a lot from the color of the page, making it a little dull. Give me your rants and raves!

[As for now, only the Main and Contact pages are available]

Couple of points.

The large grey circle is just like you said, boring or maybe drab is the better word. If you get into color association, grey associates with a dull, drab rainy day or something equal However, it does draw your eye into the center, but it also leaves a lot of white space.

The logo on the text is very distracting. I had a hard time reading the body text, cause my eye kept going back to the overlieing logo.

Gil,
Dan brought two of the three points I would like to make!

1) Add some color ... We too used grays and blacks on one of our sites and got an overwhelming number of requests for color. People like to see color. It grabs attention.
2) Get rid of the in the background of the text. I could barely conecentrate on the text and didn't read it because it caused my brain to hurt ...
3) Get a darker color for your links. They too made my brain hurt trying to read them.

Hope that wasn't to harsh!

I think it's a realy cool design, I wouldn't get rid of the background image, just make it very light. I don't mind the grey in your design much as I do on some others. Might be fun to introduce one interesting bright color to go with the grey, maybe something like a greyish purplish (periwinkle)blue, bright turquoise, watermelon red? Or just plain Red?

- I too would lighten the background, I would also have it fixed in the center.
- I would use colour in the circle as well.
- Darken the links.
- make the circle/form smaller so it fits on a page without scrolling would look SO much better.
- Also I think you should use the same font for both logo/backgrounds.
I think I am one of the lucky ones as I got away from your site without a hurting brain, woohoo!

Neat actually, but I just stared at the logo in the text box forever, hypnosis. Color would be nice. I'd lose the logo if you actually want people to read the text in the box. I read it but couldn't tell you what it said, because I just have an image of that logo stuck in my brain. You wouldn't be using sybliminal (spelling?) messages with that design would you?

Wow, maybe I can create a new marketing scheme with that background idea. Thanks for the ideas guys, I'm gonna experiment with a little blue, see if that blends. Expect to see a repost of that within the next two days.

OK, so you have the hypnosis thing going, now all you need is a subliminal 'use my services' message and your well on the way to being rich!

Alright guys, after a little pondering and a little dabbling with CSS, I managed to come up with a slightly more colorful appeal with a lighter background. Is this hot? or not?

* Netscape Users, sorry. You're out of luck!

Very inique website, i think it would be better if you used tables instead of the iframe, it would be esier on the netescape users and you'de probbly get more visiters, maybe have that ring around the i frame change colors like a rainbow, i tihnk that would briten it up a little. good luck
