HomePagePal.com (version 2) preview
Please take a quick look at the new template for HomePagePal. The goals were to be a site that doesn't look techno (like the current design)
New design: http://www.homepagepal.com/new_design/homepagepal2.jpg
Old design (for referance): http://www.homepagepal.com
The "Step 1/2/3" area will have a phrases like "What is your homepage set to? Do you ever wish you could have more than one homepage?", and have a flash tutorial walk-through.
1) Is it boring?
2) Is it interesting?
3) Is it too simple?
4) Is it ugly?
4) Is it modern and I just don't know it?
Part of the goal of the site is to be a site that doesn't look hardcore or hard edged like the old version. Soft is key.
Comments? Suggestions? Flames/Napalm?

That new site is going to take hours to load, that is way too graphic intense!

I think it's more techno than your last one... alot more techno.
That being said, it's nice.
I would howere like to know a little more about who you are before you tell me how to use your product.
I think it needs more of a direction. I dont' know where to look. Get rid of the banner that says "HOMEPAGE.COM" and give me some company info.
Also that text "favourite homepages" ect, is kinda hard to read.

The new site is a template monster web template sureley ? I would think it needs to be much more orginal.
The old site was quite nice, although yes its very graphic intensive which dial-up users would struggle to load.
Its hard to look at the new site as its just a bitmap

Both of your sites have to many graphics IMO, I think you should try for a simpler look.

Wow, that's a lot of graphics! Cool idea overall, but it does not need to be that graphics intensive.
As far as the overall look, I do think you accomplished what you set out to do, as far as it looking less techno.
