I haven't decided if I like this or not, so tell me what you think:

I like it a lot - perhaps the nav bar at the top, and add more height to it - Good Job.

The green background color is too much. The color is okay. There is just too much green in my 19" monitor and not enough yellow. Here is what I would do:

  • Graphics - get rid of that clip art and find a decent graphic.
  • Logo - to give your site identity, create a logo.
  • Navbar - move it to the top and make the text larger.
  • Table - extend out your yellow table a bit.

Overall I think that it has potential.

Thanks for your input...

Mairving:

Graphics - The "clip art" is actually a logo designed by the owners friend. It's the only logo they want to use, so I'm stuck with it!

I will probably extend out the table and add some mo' yellow! I appreciate your input, and thanks!

I think the logo is kind of cute. However, the green of the background doesn't match the green of the plant, so that should be fixed. The logo could be used differently though - seems too boxed off by itself there. Maybe you could make it larger and have it overlap some of the boxes somehow?

I agree that the navbar should be moved to the top, and you have to decide to either capitalize the words on it or use lower case - you've got a mix there.

It does look a lot better at 800x 600 than at larger resolutions.

Wild guess, but a lot of people who care about plants are older and will have a lot of trouble with that font size (and probably will never be able to read it on a Mac) for the body of the text. I'd suggest changing it to at least 11px.

I found the colour scheme gloomy for what I think of as a green/environment/airy sort of topic.

I did a different version...check it out again...the second one...

Let me know if that's any better...

Plants still a bit boxed off, but looks better Smiling
Centring and capatilizing the text on the menu bar might look better also keeping the same decoration on the words unless the page where you are is meant to be normal and the rest bold...
Making the colum with the same colour scheme as the logo colum bigger, maybe transfer the fourth columns stuff into it and lose the fourth column...

Look forward to it going live... I need to find out how to look after my cacti... Laughing out loud

Do you need to tell people that's the navigation???
Centering the text in those boxes would look better but don't center text when it's paragraphs!!!

I think the logo is a bit too big now and it seems to have a speckled background to it which makes it look fuzzy and grey against the white (but that could just be my eyes!)

I think I prefer the look of the first one Wink

I like this second site a lot better. I really like the choice of colors and the overall layout. Just a few things.

I think the plant logo is a little too large and I think the "HOME" pic to the top left could fit in with the rest of the page. How about left aligning the text in the center of the page instead of centered like it is now.

Overall I really like the site.

I like the larger logo size of the second version, but overall i like this first one better.

It's be great if you could have the logo seem like it's overlapping the calls a bit, as someone mentioned.
